Hey Guys,

Contemplating the murder package.... Just wanted to hear your opinion on the resalability. Are these much more difficult to sell like this? Any comments appreciated.

vinyl the trim so it can be removed if you want upon resale, and get some factory repo wheels if you dont want to touch the stockers

Personally I think its overdone and will be passe before too much longer. In some circles the term itself is considered lame.

But as long as its all reversable, do whatcha want.

I did it on my RT and here are the pros and cons:
Pros: looks good
Cons: 1) paint was faded under the trim and it shows, 2) no more door protection, so I won't do it on my future GCSRT8.

I do like to see the murdered out rigs.... But it isnt for me. When I bought mine I passed over a mint condition one because of the painted trim.. So I wouldnt say it decreases value.... but will decrease your pool of interested buyers.... ie possibly take longer to sell.

I think mine looks classy with just the Black wheels and all the Chrome pieces + None tinted Tails . Again just my .2

Is that the gloss or semi-golss?

I've been contemplating doing this for some time now. Considering the Carbon Fiber Trim and black Gloss Rims with red calipers or orange calipers. Just not sure yet. Time for something different in my life.

I think there is too many blacked out jeeps. Do something new :p

Although the blacked out jeeps do look good.

I like mine but leaning towards chrome wheels. I'm still in love with the stock look. I find myself snapping my own neck when I see one even when I'm in mine. lol

There are alot of blacked out jeeps, but in all honesty, how many do you see in the area you live? Sure 1 in 5 on the boards is murdered, but bein the only guy on the block you will get a ton of looks.

Yeah I only did the wheels on mine as well, along with painting the "SRT" logo on the wheels in red. I will not touch anything else. I also have non-tinted tails and the chrome trim still. I am not a fan of the totally murdered out rigs. But many people are. I even added SRT8 badges on the side fenders.

I saw a black srt8 with all the chrome done in hand-bomb red, talk about gross. I like the blacked out look, the chrome is just too shiny. Does chrysler have the trim on black colors for different models?

Murdered out cars look good and menacing but too common.
I thought about blacking out my rig but changed my mine.
I will just tint all the rear lights and black out the SRT logo on the rims.
That's going to be it for the exterior on mine.

Thanks for the input guys. I should elaborate on my situation and thus the predicament. I have 2 black 2010's. I murdered out the one I drive and the other a friend wants to (short term) rent from me. He owns a custom shop and wants to drive it murdered, so he is willing to do it on him. If your wondering why I have 2, 1 for down south during the winter, the other at home in Chicago. Though I ended up driving mine back home for the summer and now the other is collecting dust. I'm concerned that even though I like the look, it will be harder to sell when the time comes. So let me rephrase the question; does it (murder package) actually lower the value or just narrow the buyers pool?

Thanks guys.

Narrows the buyers pool. Not everyone is looking for a murdered Jeep. Value is just based on how much someone wants to pay for it. If might find some guy who thinks that's the sweetest ride he's ever seen and is willing to pay well for it. Then you might find a guy who hates but wants the Jeep and will have to do work to get it back to normal. It's still a Jeep GCSRT8 no matter what. It's all going to just depend on the buyer. Good luck.

I agree with Harrison that I think it will lower your buyers pool. I passed on a murdered out one before I got mine. I love the distinctive look of the SRT8 and like KAOSS said they draw your attention whenever you see one.
