According to CARS.com there are only 14 new 2010's available across the country at this time. Pretty soon people will be stopping us on the street offering to buy our rigs:D

Down to only 12 now-

The one for $56,308 at the top of their list has miles on it and should be considered used really.

Whoa there pardner, don't get too riled up just now. My numbers are only based upon CARS.com I'm sure that many dealers don't advertise on there, but it's still a decent barometer for the market in general. When I was shopping for my SRT back in the springtime there were well over 100 showing up.

We will find out tomorrow. I did a bunch of zip code locates on the Jeep site and found them in various places. It looks like black fully loaded is whats left, couple red, etc. I'm going to Jeep in the AM ( two places) to see if the prices are better than when I went in January (they tried to take off 1500 bucks and make a deal). If they give me a good price and can locate the car quickly I'm gonna make the call.

When I was at dealer yesterday he told me someone came in about 2 weeks ago wanting to buy one. He said they tried calling 20+ different dealers that still have new ones & none of them wanted to do a dealer trade even for full MSRP. I would say this is not good news for anyone looking.

Could be the dealer you are dealing with (never know if they deny swaps with others) or the guy trying to create a little MSRP crazyness for the last few out there. Why would a dealer not trade a now outdated model for a 2011? These SUVs are still Jeep Cherokees, not a Corvette ZR1, I think a dealer swap could be arranged if they wanted to especially for MSRP, thats just silly. more to that story.

I had the same problem in April of this year. Local dealer tried. My brother-law-in is best firends with the owner. He did his best. I had one shipped from Oklahoma. By the way, prices on ZR1's are dropping like a rock.

How can the Jeep SRT8 be outdated if there is no current model to replace it?

Some dealers just don't seem to want to let them go now or anytime. They got the Inferno for me no problem from a dealer in Chicago. But it took him a day & a half to find one in Modern Blue for me. They had to go 800+ miles to get it. Both of these were back in April '09. Believe it or not I've bought 5 cars from my sales guy, 3 being SRT's & he don't try any BS with me.

I meant its outdated because the 2011 redesigns are out...the SRT8 is gonna be due out in 2012 based on rumors, if I was a dealer I'd want to unload any 2010 cherokee.

Yeah I don't think it can hurt to see what they can do. If they can't get it, I may end up with something else.

Theres one in North Olmsted, OH with a dealer installed Vortech. They are a Vortech top tier installer. Not sure if they will dealer trade it or not.

There is one with 7,291 miles at SMITH HAVEN CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE for $46,977 however... Rofl

So im guessing everyone is just looking for the 2010 models because there is 3 in colorado. 2007 for $30,000 (74,000 miles) 2008 for $34,000 (31,000 miles)and 2009 for $40,000 (18,000 miles) so they are out there if any body wants one you just got to dig deep for them.

I already bought this one on Monday July 26th (actually had made the deal and the put the deposit down on Saturday). I searched nationwide myself after three dealers had been unable to find and trade a new 2010. The few dealers who did have new vehicle still showing in inventory were not selling them as the owner of the dealerships were holding onto them for their personnel collections (a guy in Texas had two that he wouldn't sell). I had to drive 500 miles from Iowa to pick up this one in Cleveland.

As of last Wednesday, Jake Sweeney in Cincinnati had a demo SRT8 that the owner's wife was driving. It had around 2400 miles and they were willing to sell it for $47,078 before rebates.

I guess I'll never get why dealers wouldn't want to move as many cars as possible.

The current generation and previous generations of the GC deserve respect for getting the Jeep SRT8 to were it's at today, and to where it's heading. Callling the current SRT8 outdated doesn't give it it's due, IMHO. On the road, in my mind, I always give other GC's a mental nod, no matter the year, or if it's an SRT or not, kind of a relative of sorts. I'm sure the new generation will be a great successor.

Dealer behavior, now that's a different story.

I agree they are great SUVs, totally agree. I just see posts about people not being able to get them transferred in and it doesnt make sense.

Again, dealer behavior is another story. I agree, sometimes not in the best interest of the Chrysler name. Some are independent and can do whatever they want. Bad for business.
