: Financing
mls27 05-18-2007, 08:46 PM Does anyone use Capital One? It almost seems like a good idea to walk in with their whole "blank check" rather than deal with the dealer. This way youve got your rate and can bargain down to the BOTTOM line without them messing with numbers. Opinions?
also what are people over 25 with good records paying for insurance?
Untouchable 05-18-2007, 09:07 PM i tried that capital one blank check and thought I was a king when I walked in until the dealer told me they don't take them. So much for being a hero.
I am 28 and have a somewhat wild past as a driver. I pay 800 every 6 months with geico. the funny part is a pay more for my 1993 camry insurance.
mls27 05-18-2007, 09:11 PM how can they not take them? It's straight from the bank???
AT'sGCSRT8 05-18-2007, 09:29 PM Capital one is who I used. Made it easy the day my Jeep arrived, just sign a few papers and off I went!
mls27 05-18-2007, 09:35 PM how did it work? how much did u finance? was it easier to bargain?
also, what are the current SRT incentives? I can't figure out which are for the other jeep models and which are SRT eligible.
srt8hotrod 05-19-2007, 04:56 AM cap one is good i used them twice, low rates,im 30 ,married 6 months for me is $445.00 for the ins.owning a home helps too<allstate ins>the blank check is cool too. those are suposed to be accepted at any dealer.they didnt want it because they want you to finance w/ them so they make the money.theres nothing in it for them but the money they make over book on the jeep, believe me they want the interest money too!!!! crooks!!:

I am old, and I was paying $250 every six months on the Jeep SRT and then $270 every six months on the SUper Bee with USAA insurance. USAA offers financing for up to 60 months at 5.99%.
38 yrs old and paying 385/6 with house and 2 other vehicles on the policy.
mls27 05-19-2007, 10:06 AM that sounds about right
but what are the current SRT incentives?
championjeep 05-19-2007, 10:13 AM The Jeeps have no incentives. Also the reason a lot of dealers wont take cap one checks has nothing to do with the financing. Its because Cap one charges us to take the checks.

Same reason why the dealer would not let me put my wife's car 100% on my credit card. I tried to charge 29K but the most they would let me was 2500. I thought it would be easier then going to the bank to get a cashiers check and also get all the rewards points on the credit card. There is a charge for merchants to accept credit. The charge goes up as the sale price goes up.
AT'sGCSRT8 05-19-2007, 10:23 AM If they won't accept it then just move on to another dealer. I'm sure you can find what you are looking for somewhere else that will take the cap one check. How much could they possibly charge that would keep you from accepting it over losing a car deal?
championjeep 05-19-2007, 11:08 AM That would depend on how much of a deal you have.....The charge can be anywhere from three to seven hundred. With my pricing there is enough holdback on the SRT's that I can do it. But on some of my other vehicles there is just not enough room to take the check without losing money. The pickups I have are marked down so much I would actually be paying money to take a Cap one check.
shodanusmc 05-19-2007, 12:45 PM Champ, would you pay me to take 08 Viper in Rattlesnake Green?
championjeep 05-19-2007, 01:57 PM I would consider it....Orders have been available for almost three weeks now an we still dont have pricing on them. I guess that means they should be free

Old is a frame of mind. I'm 47 and I'm paying $419 every six months for my '06 GC SRT8 with USAA. I have a $500 comprehensive/collision deductible and two other cars on the policy and I'm supposedly getting the good driver/multiple car discount in CA.
Looking at some of the prices others are paying for auto insurance, maybe it's time I did some auto insurance shopping. I suspect that the amount the deductibles are ($250 vs $1000) and the state your being insured in are important factors in the amount one pays for auto insurance.
I use my local credit union. I hate dealing with the shady finance guy at the dealer. makes it much easier.

47? You are still a kid! Your rate will depend on many factors. Mileage driven per year, Use, such as pleasure, business, work, miles to and from, credit score, age, maritial status, accident history, and most important, your rating territory. I am in a Suburb of Chicago. If I was in Chicago, or other zip codes, my rates could be 20-50% higher. My Bee was rated pleasure, less than 7500 a year. Same as when I had the Jeep. I agree on the frame of mind.
With USAA, and their SSA (Subscriber Savings Account), I doubt you would find anything less expensive. I know that Allstate, SF, Geico, Progressive can't even come close. But for HO's Insurance, USAA was 30% higher than Allstate. Go figure. I am sure when you turn 50 it will drop ....
mls27 05-20-2007, 05:16 PM the Jeep Limited 5.7 Hemi is leasing for 379 a month with 1999 down...that's basically the same car minus the SRT-8 add ons correct?
That's a nice lease, why aren't there the same type of offers on SRT-8
Inferno SRT8 05-20-2007, 05:21 PM $1750 Full coverage in NYC
mls27 05-20-2007, 05:42 PM I'm also checking out 2003-2005 Vettes

Good point - I didn't factor in the SSA. USAA has treated me fairly over the years (banking/investments/insurance) so I shouldn't complain. Another drop in my insurance rates when I turn 50 huh? Boy, I can hardly wait (not).

I LOVE USAA!!
That's who I use as well... Not only is it 5.99 for 60 months, but it's only 6.24 for 72 months and 6.74 for 84 months.
My insurance through them only went up $100 with the trade from my 99 GC to my 2007 GC SRT-8 (about 350 every 6 mos. and I'm 27)
Firebelly 05-22-2007, 08:41 PM Just got my financing approved through Chrysler Financial for 5.99 on 63 months. I pick up the Jeep on June 5th. No bull or fees. 5.99 is APR. I have A+ Credit. Dealer told me it's good on all Chrysler/Dodge/ Jeep vehicles until the end of the month. They did say that if Chrysler Financial doesn't extend the 5.99 I would have to date the contract for 5/31 and start paying interest then. I was fine with that. I have State Farm insurance...I'm 30 and have a couple of tickets (who doesn't) and I will pay $500 every 6 for the Jeep. That's with my house, another car, motocycle, and a General liability policy through them. Not bad. It's actually $1 cheaper per 6 than my 6 speed Crossfire. Go figure. Knuckleheads.
