: Kids at Heart: Any Video Gamers on here?
Go~RillaWRX 05-17-2007, 01:03 PM I am just giving a shout, see if any of you guys spend anytime on video games. I normally play one night a week, but normally for hours on hours. I am still stuck on Gears of War on Xbox 360. If you play, fess up. If your online, give us your gamertag and the games you play.
I have found a close relationship between car forum guys and video games, and have met some really cool subaru people on xbox live. Lets hear it.
My xbox live gamertag: Go Rilla 313
Games I play now: Gears of War
Games i am waiting on: Forza 2, Assasins Creed, Halo 3
Krush 05-17-2007, 01:08 PM xKRUSHx on live, but I don't play much these days. Gears has been sitting on my shelf for months, unopened. :(
Se7en 05-17-2007, 01:15 PM I'm a Sr. Producer at Sega of America.
I play a lot of games, sort of an occupational hazard :D
FastSRT8GC 05-17-2007, 01:26 PM PS3 I have almost all the new games. But I usually play SOCOM.
I used to play World of Warcraft <----Points and laughs at self.
Now im hooked on the Wii, The best part of the Wii is that the game that the system comes with is the only one i need. I am a bowl-o-holic
HoustonSRT-8 05-17-2007, 01:44 PM I'm a junkie, but I'm not into the FPS games which are the rage these days. I'm more into RPGs, stategy, adventure & driving games.
I have a 360, Wii & PS2. I'll upgrade to a PS3 eventually.
P.S. My 360 gamertag is "Swedish Meatwad".
FastSRT8GC 05-17-2007, 01:59 PM "Swedish Meatwad".
LOL i think sometimes your here just to entertain me Houston!!!!;)

Mango 05-17-2007, 05:21 PM I can't stand console games or platforms like Xbox/PS2/etc. Only "console" I like is the Wii, which is an incredible entertainment machine.
I'm a diehard, full blown PC gamer though. I've been custom building my own machines for about 13 years now. They are full blown gaming powerhouses, you couldn't buy anything as powerful as the systems I build since I overclock and custom tweak my machines for maximum performance.
Right now I'm running a dual loop, dual radiator watercooled rig with a 1,200 MHz overclock.
Full Orthos stable @ 3.6Ghz (stock 2.4GHz Conroe e6600) @ 3.625 vCore
Dual 8800GTX vid cards on DangerDen waterblocks OC'd
RaptorX 10k
1 Kilowatt PC Power & Cooling powersupply
etc etc
This current rig will pull almost a 16,000 score on 3DMark 06, for example.
Download it and see where your system falls. :) http://www.futuremark.com/download/
I'm a contributing member over at XtremeSystems.org/forums so this sort of thing is like my car passion, lol!
We buy expensive gear, and overclock it, volt mod it, etc. to the max. I'm MUCH more carefree with my PC mods vs. my SRT8 mods.
FastSRT8GC 05-17-2007, 05:34 PM Mango, I will race you with my MAC PRO.
Dual 2.66
Currently only 2gb 677 DDR2
L2 Cache 4MB per processor
Bus 1.33Ghz
Oh and able to run Two HD flat panels. Currently I only have one:(
The PS3 Is the best bang for the buck with the blue ray Unbelievable quality and sound. But you know this I have seen your Home system, Nice setup!!

I have a mac pro also, same Dual 2.66 Xenons. Running 3 Gigs of the 677 DDR2 ECC ram
etc etc.
I have 2 Terabytes of storage space on her as well, with the X1900XTX vid card upgrade on a 30" Apple Cinema Display.
I'm waiting for the Quad Xeons to come down in price, the 5350's or 5355's do I can upgrade it to Octocore :) They are direct plug in's on the MB.
My setup a month ago, I've since moved the PC to a tech table with the dual rads. But you get the point.

SHOW OFF!!!!
Nice rigs.
Se7en 05-17-2007, 06:43 PM Very nice rig Mango!
I don't have anything exceptional for a gaming machine, but use a dell xps laptop for work and another dell laptop for home.
Both output to a Panasonic hi-def projection system. The screen is a motorized 92" screen research "acoustically transparent" screen. That's also what I run my 360 through :D
As for the PS3, I don't own one. In my mind Sony still has some work to do in the customer/publisher/developer support arena.
NighT ProWLeR 05-17-2007, 06:55 PM It's all about H A L O. Gamertag: OprahsFatAss.
Str8Srt8 05-17-2007, 06:59 PM That's awesome. By the time I get a system like that, it's already outdated, so I'm more moderate on the pc side of things. That's my history of lessons learned since I started out with an Amiga back in '85. Just money down the drain if you don't use it, and that the latter was my problem. I've got every mod/gizmo for a ps3 though, the power technology processing does make all other things stank! Well, that's only if it was coded for cell processing. And having everything for it, well there's really not much. Not really. The blue ray works great, I run Linux on it too. It outperforms 3 of my 2GHZ plus pc's put together on Folding @ Home.
The only games out there for it I like are Gran Turismo and Resistance Fall of Man (fsp). I made General in Resistance recently.
I still prefer my pc for gaming though, fsp war sims I like the best.
OurZoo 05-17-2007, 07:38 PM Xbox 360 baby. I haven't picked it up in awhile though and I too need to open Gears of War. I have the strategy book and everything, but haven't touched it. I love the first person shooters and the racing games. One day I'll get my azz back on Xlive, look for Chronic Sinner.

At my other board that I frequent, you earn points by posting. Points are also earned by donating to the board; 1 cent = 1 point. You can then use those points to "purchase" things on the website. Nothing tangible, just perks or our favorite.....name rapes. It costs 20k points (10k points must come from a donation) to name rape someone. You can change their boardname to anything you want as long as it isn't derogitory or include cuss words. I was nameraped to Swedish Meatwad (due to owning a Volvo) months ago and I ended up keeping it and using it as my 360 gamertag. :D

Zoo,
You must play Gear of War, or at least look at it. Very sick game!
By the way, since we're on the topic of video games, have any of you heard about "Spore". It's Will Wright's (creator of Sims) next creation? It is probably not for everyone (FPS Freaks) but for any fans of strategy or god games this thing pushes the envelope for sure.

Play alot of Halo.. Been playing Halo 3 for the last week or more from the Bungie.net "Friends and Family" invite.
OurZoo 05-17-2007, 10:47 PM My wife is a closet 360 freak sometimes as well. She loves the fantasy games and is eagerly awaiting the newest Fable.
Street WK 05-18-2007, 04:57 AM I was all about the Wii, until I realized it was no fun unless I had a friend playing with me.

Spore is going to be a revolutionary game! It was pushed back to allow time to polish it into a franchise, like The Sims. I was involved in the beta testing of the game, and it has some of the most "intelligent" AI I've seen in a game since Black & White. It can actually simulate mutations in real time, using some pretty advanced algorithms of predicition and what is "desireable". I'm not sure what type of Agents the game is using, but I do know it has the highest number of active agents to date in a computer game.

Very very nice!
Gotta hope what software you use makes good use of the extra 4 cores, not much does. Certainly does not apply when I play Call of Duty 2 (alias: Ping_Lo)
Just slumming along here with a MacPro quad core 3.0 Ghz Xeon & 6GB of RAM, 2.5TB internal, Dual Video Cards, Displays are 30" main, dual 20" secondaries.

My company does a bit with video, not a big creative type myself.

There is a space between go and rilla and a space between rilla and 313.
Happy gaming, and crazy computers you have mango.
