Hi,

I think that my transfer case is gone since the car feels like driving a RWD car.

But my dealer says that he thinks that the transfer case is still o.k.

Is there any way for me to proof my dealer that the transfer case doesnt work without taking the transfer case apart ?

For example when i take the car on a hydraulic ramp and only the rear wheels are spinning - would this proof that the transfer case is dead ? Or is it also possible that the transfer case is dead altaugh when all 4 wheels are spinning on the hydraulic ramp ?

Or should there be any kind of error code when the transfer case is gone ?

Thanks for the input !

Take care
Thomas

Even if your TC is blown they probably will not cover it under warranty because your running a supercharger on it.

Contact Bill @ Paramount Performance for a new one if the dealer tells you they won't cover it.

You really think you'll get warranty to cover yout TC when you have an additional 100hp???

You're warranty days are over buddy the TC failure is directly related to your new power as far as they are concerned....

As far as proving it....make a video and show them

there are a few some codes that must be shown. I forget which ones they are, but it relates to function of the t/c, maybe service 4wd, maybe code for blocking/non-function of t/c case motor. A weeping leak, if you have one, helps, if you were to properly document that the leak would require significant rework (like a 60 to 80% rework) to properly fix. Usually there is a test drive or two to demonstrate that the front wheel isn't spinning as it should or that the t/c isnt engaging as it should. Also some dye in a leak test to document the leak, as well as any noises or other issues that you appear to be having, metal bits in the gear oil? These are diagnostics that a tech would undertake to document the case.

it helps to have a relationship with your dealer as well, and to have a good customer frequency. If you walk in cold, you'll likely get Keoni's described result, but my s/c has 9k on it and my t/c has about 4k on it, so its all in how you handle it. ;)

Hi,

Well - i have warranty since my dealer who sold me the car also installed the S/C Kit and therefore i have my warranty.

So is there a way for me to proof it to my dealer ? Or has the T/C to be taken apart ?

Thanks,
Take care

Perhaps this will help:

I bet it is the transfer case. It will give the "SERVICE 4WD SYSTEM" in the dash.
What I have seen cause it are the clutches in the transfer case have worn to a point where the transfer case motor can't rotate any further and fully engage the clutches.
