A guy at work has one and has offered me a 0-60mph straight line race (on a private road) with my SRT8, his Cayenne is totally stock, mine is stock apart from an AFE intake fitted.

Am I going to win or lose?!

what year is the Cayenne? I think the new ones have more hp than the first ones released. But I may be wrong.

If it's a newer one it will be close.

Some don't like Wikipedia, so for what it's worth:

The 1st generation Cayenne Turbo had 450 horsepower (340 kW), and accelerated from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 5.3 seconds. A Turbo S version was built in 2006 to compete with the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG. The Cayenne Turbo S included a low-range case, a locking differential, and the height-adjustable, off-road suspension also standard on the regular Turbo model. It was powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.8-liter V8 that produced 520 bhp (390 kW) and 700 N·m (520 lb·ft) of torque. Acceleration from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) was 5.0 seconds and the top speed was 171 miles per hour. It featured a 6-speed automatic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automatic_transmission) Tiptronic transmission.
A new Turbo was revealed at the 2008 Beijing auto show. It received 50 hp (37 kW) more power, and now accelerated from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.9 seconds. Also revealed with the new Turbo was a new 550 horsepower (410 kW) Turbo S. Acceleration from 0-60 mph is 4.7 seconds and has optional ceramic composite brakes.

Here's a comparison chart that inludes the jeep and the porsche for 2010:

I killed 2 Cayenne Turbo S so far when I had just Intake and Exhaust. But not by much (a win is a win)
You should be able to get him. Drive the Beast hard for a couple of miles before running him or reset your TCM.
Line up and turn the traction control off put it on auto stick then let it shift itself.
You'll do just fine. Don't forget his car is probably worth twice as much as yours.

Hmmmmm... since when is killed = not by much? Haha I'm just giving you trouble but I think it will be a very tight race, no point and backing down, our jeeps are made for dominating!

Don't try and powerbrake, a stock jeep performs best if you just punch it off the line. You should edge him out 0-60, after that, he'll outperform somewhere around the 1/8th mile.

A cheap tune would go a Looooooooooooooooooong way to embarassing him though.

That will be intresting ;)
Take the challenge and show him what the Jeep is capable of :D

Get a tune from MHP and let him hear your exhaust as he's behind you trying to catch up
:D
Bet Him $100 to recover your cost for the tune

You should definitely be able to win a 0-60 race. The most important thing for you to do is video tape it and put it on YouTube so all of the wannabe-Porsche-owners can freak out and say the Jeep has a crappy interior lol.

I've run my buddies '10 a bunch of times. I have a tune and intake and Im always out by a full fender going through 60. The turbo S really shines up top, Ive bumped into him on the freeway a few times and we both light 'er up- from a 40-50 mph roll he absolutely walks away.....

He won't be walking away from a vortech equipped ride. Maybe crawl away over 10 miles but definitely not walk. As I said in my previous post... the comparison should be between TWO Forced Induction motors ;)

^^I agree with ya. As far as the OP is concerned... It'll be tight down low, and a loss up high. I think with a vortech'd ride that the S wouldn't catch up ever, and from a 40-50 roll their extra weight would still cost em and the jeep will come out on top.

I'll let you guys know in 2 weeks when the Vortech comes! Can't wait!!!

Keep in mind this race is between DBX's srt8 and his Buddies Cayenne, not the "If I had" stuff.:D

This man speaks the truth. You'll grab an initial jump due to the lower gearing and the epic launches the SRT8 does. But after that, the Cayenne's power advantage will show up.

And Vader's right... the guy's not asking about if his truck was blown, turbo'd, or if the Cayenne's truck had new turbos and tunes and a rocket on the back... He wants to know how his truck with an intake compares to the stock Cayenne.

I think I'm going to have my dash done in leather just because I'm so sick of hearing that already. We should all do a GB on some nice leather patterns.

bought mine from a guy that had both (I saw it, but don't know what year it was). Told me just what's reported here. 0 - 60, the Jeep wins everytime (and his wife was driving). It was stock then.

I saw a window sticker that said, "Silly Boy, Jeeps are for girls!"

My completely stock SRT8 did 0-60 in 4.6 and 4.7 consistently. I doubt you will have too much trouble beating him.
