My 2006 GCSRT8 currently operates pretty well in upstate New York snow with BWoody 4 inch cai, Jet 180 deg thermostat, Pred. canned 93 oct cai tune, 87 mm throttlebody and Corsa exhaust as long as you are easy on the throttle, even with the stock Goodyear runflats. My concern now is over-modding to the point where the truck becomes useless in the snow, as it is my daily driver. I'm getting ready to do the MB blue top selenoids next, which will be followed by a thermal coated/ported intake manifold, possibly a MHP TCM and finally a CMR tune or MHP bench flash tune. My concern now is how the truck will perform in the foul weather with the reduced torque management and extra power these proposed changes provide. Anyone running mid-12 second rigs (or faster) in the snow during the winter time with similar mods, and if so how do they do with the AWD if you are easy on the throttle? As always, thanks in advance...

Well I'm not quite in the 12s but I do have a few things done. I run my ride all year long and i have 7 months or deep winter. The main thing I would do is get a set of winter rims and tires. That's the big thing you will notice. And yea you have to baby the gas but other than that you should be ok.

I run mine in the winter, the only thing Im gonna do is swap on some winter tires and swap out my bwoody for the mopar intake. Like pizzaguy said... just adjust your driving style and you'll be fine.

I live North of you in Montreal, Quebec and my 06 has seen 4 winters so far without a problem. I have similar mods, plus Headers, U/D pulleys, ported Intake and MHP TCM. The only recommendation is to use 4 good snow tires and you can enjoy your Jeep as a winter DD.
Mine has Pirelli Scorpion Ice& snow tires in 245/45-20 front and 275/40-20 rears on the stock rims.
