Hey Guys,

Well after some searching around and much deliberation, I have finally decided to take the plunge. Seems that you folks have an awesome site here with tons of information. Congrats! Anyway, as a former owner of three Mustangs including a 617rwhp Kenne Bell Cobra, I am interested in a few "pick me up" mods for the SRT8 JGC. I am looking at intake/CAI mods, but the jury seems to still be out on them. Mopar is nice, but I don't like the metal tube at all. At the very least, a K&N drop in. Exhausts, I basically have picked out the Mopar/Corsa. I am also going to do the phenolic spacers.

Basically, are there any package deals for starter mods? Like a Stage 1, 2 etc.?

I learned the HARD WAY with my '03 Cobra to shop around, gather information and see what really works IN PERSON from people I trust.

So I just wanted to introduce myself and gather some helpful information as I lay my foundation for some simple mods to get me into the 12's. I think a SRT8 JGC that runs 12's and can also haul the family around in is fast enough for me.

Thanks for any and all imput!

Don

Welcome brother,
I agree 12's in an suv in pretty damn good. Anyway there are some guys here that are running 12's already so they should know more than I do. All I can say is I was happy today with my bone stock 500 mile jeep when it ripped a 4.599 0-60 time in hot and sunny south fla! I think if you live up north w some good weather and very little mods...you should be able to break into the 12's without many mods.
Run a search for any questions u may have and that will usually get you an answer(without posting and looking like a newbie).
Regards and good luck,
EX-SVTMAN

Thanks brotha!

I have been searching all day basically. Just wanted to hear some good info from some folks on here regarding MY topic, not someone else's.

Gotcha.
Look at Inferno's mods... he runs mid 12's in good weather. There are some other guys that rock it hard as well. Like I said, good luck and if I can be of service just give me a holla.
Laters,

i see you're in Edison NJ... i believe alot of people from the NYC area from this site hit up Englishtown pretty regularly (as well as some of the LX SRT guys: Chargers, Magnums, 300s)

might be worth it to head out there and get some hands on research into some different combinations of mods and how they fare on the 1/4 mile under the same conditions your ride would be under... i know that's what i'm planning to do when i get the Jeep

Hey Inferno, what combination were you using to run you "high 12's in warm and mid 12's in cold" weather?

Just wondering.

Any recommendations?
