: Any LSD planned again for the future?
Joe Las Vegas 06-09-2010, 05:45 AM Any future plans on a single unit LSD, not the whole rear end (http://paramountperformanceproducts.com/srt8-jeep-8-8-limited-slip-rear-differential/), just so that we can upgrade to a rear end LSD without breaking the bank?
I know there was a thread about Quaife, but the demand was not high enough to make them, any other brand Bill can work with that would work well and be under 1K and be strong enough to live with a Vortech?
Muellge 06-09-2010, 06:01 AM there are some plans with wavetrac. I could not pm you and did not want to labor the point in this section. outta respect an' all.

My PM is working, I guess when that comes out we'll hear about it.
jim383 06-09-2010, 06:36 AM With just a few mods i dont think a posi unit will help us that much if any as im pulling 1.73/1.75 60' now with just 2 mods and my race wt is 5190. Im sure if the next srt-8 jeep comes out with the 6.4 motor there will be a posi unit in it.
Muellge 06-09-2010, 06:49 AM problem is, it will be an electronic diff not a mechanical one, making getting it to work more than nuts and bolts. If the thing interacts with the TCM to determine when and how much clutch to apply, we'll be unscrambling the eggs to get it to work with an 06-10 jeep.

Joe I tried...
Joe Las Vegas 06-09-2010, 06:50 AM What about as a daily driver in the rain, does it grip well? I know my RT turn into a 1 wheel drive rear end when it's wet, doesn't the GCSRT8 do the same since it's the same setup (open posi &TC)
If they made an LSD unit for the rear and the front for a total of $2500 or less, I would definitely do it.
Weird thing that my PM is not working, I doubled check and I allowed members to contact me, no big deal.

Why would it need to be electronic, they (DCX or whatever they're called now) put simple LSD units in the 09+ LX cars for cheap.
Joe Las Vegas 06-09-2010, 06:58 AM I E-mailed Wavetrac to ask them if they had any plans on doing front and rear LSD for the GCSRT8, I'll keep you posted if they answer.
How about you Bill, any future plans on LSD units?

"Receive Private Messages only from Contacts and Moderators"
I had this checked, didn't notice:rolleyes:, that's why PM didn't work, too late now.
Joe Las Vegas 06-09-2010, 12:58 PM Here's the answer I got from Wavetrac:
"Thank you for your interest in Wavetrac.
We are just in the beginning stages of looking at making a replacement for the rear of the SRT8 Cherokee.
So far, no one has approached us for a front application.
I will keep your email on file, and notify you once we have more details.
Regards,
Dana"
BTW: Don't worry Bill, you're still number one in my book:bigthumb:

The SRT market is there and is well known, just because the Jeep SRT8 isn't well known doesn't mean it's OK to exclude it from other SRT8 Models.
JohnsonSRT8 06-22-2010, 10:44 PM Sooo Bill do you guys have anything planned or just sticking with the 8.8 whole rear swap for now?
Muellge 06-23-2010, 11:06 AM The SRT market is there and is well known, just because the Jeep SRT8 isn't well known doesn't mean it's OK to exclude it from other SRT8 Models.
yeah but as we know on the rear its different on the jeep versus the rest of the SRT8 pack, even smaller numbers.
To my knowledge Quaife was going to do one as detailed on this site a while back but the numbers and costs were so prohibitive as to kill any likelihood, and I've already posted yesterday about the other for stock applications. Then there's the paramount 8.8 full swap that junior's running. and then another 9 inch possibility. I think that's about it on the waterfront.
mandan007 06-23-2010, 11:20 AM I love having a 9 incher! :D
YoungMedic23 06-23-2010, 11:39 AM A quaife in the stock front diff.....drool
Harrison@Stage6 07-28-2010, 03:01 PM We've got our own special rear end.:( Not the same as the others.
