So jeeps got 31k on it and i figured i should go in and see what a 30k mile service would set me back... well i found out and was surprised to say the least. TOTAL $1175 not including an oil change because i got that already.
Wow so i'm wondering Is all of the service needed? What should i definitely get done?
i do not have even half of that amount right now to put towards it.
So just looking to see who's done the dealers 30k service and if its completly neccesary. Or if i can pick and choose the important things i need.
thanks for all the help!

Did the stealership tell you what was included in their 30k service? My understanding is at that point it's just fluids and a filter or 2. Maybe some brakes... I realize the fluids are pricey. But you can buy them elsewhere for less and do some of that yourself (or a less expensive garage). Brakes aren't horribly expensive if that's what's included in your $1175, and you can check around online and find many owners who get brake pads & rotors at some of the vendors on this site. I'm taking my Jeep next week for fluids. I bought all of them from OReilly's and online for about 1/2 the cost of a stealership. Just my .03 cents.

That entire thread is chock-full of good intel. Cobraguy, there are some very good and far less expensive options than the stealership in this case. kmitch80 is "spot on" with his advice. I'd def take a minute and read that thread he's linked to and reconsider what exactly you're paying the stealership to do. I also got my TC fluid online (instead of buying at the stealer) for about $37/quart. Saved $15/quart (need 2). Good luck!

hey where did you get the TC fluid from!? that was the once thing i didnt do because i refuse to pay the dealership that much for a product they basically "monopolize" and force us to use.
