Just picked up my '07 SRT8 here in Los Angeles and love it...but I already can't help but think about that possible '09 SRT8 with the 6.4L Hemi. Anyone considering trading in the 6.1 for the 6.4 when it becomes available?

Congratulations and welcome. You are sure to enjoy your GC SRT8.
There are numerous meet and greets in the LA area where you can meet other owners, see what they have done and get great input. Also be sure to sign up for SRT Track Experience.

Is there really going to be that much of a difference between the 6.1 and the 6.4? All you have to do is mod your 6.1 more.

I would say most definately NO.....:)

By the time the 6.4L "go-fast" goodies become available, some of "us" will be in the 10's. Although, if you like starting over every couple of years...the 6.4 would probably be a good platform to begin with as well.

Jeff
Jeff,
Was traveling all day Friday, I wiil be in contact with him Monday.
Hope my spare diffs. arrive soon, would like to get this project going at the same time as the 426 install.

Amazing, I received an email from Strange Engineering (the axle / diff experts) saying in effect, we are screwed, no parts are planned for us in their axle / diff. groups due to our low volumes. Oh well, we knew that and that is why we are pursuing the different avenues.

Out driving with my wife today in the rain, she spun the tires from each stop light and said, you really need to do something about Hemi's lack of traction. Haaaa wait she drives the new hp power combo! I will have the traction taken care of will all of your helpful comments and ideas.

Thanks! Picked it up at Moothart Jeep/Chrysler in Cerritos. I emailed a few dealers in LA and the South Bay, and Cerritos gave me the price I wanted, which was $43,444 for the fully loaded version and $3500 for my beat up but still loved 2000 Dodge Durango 4x4 with 140K miles. I found the dealers in LA to be a bit ridiculous in their asking prices, with one even asking for $5K OVER sticker, so I returned to my hometown (grew up in Cerritos although I live in LA now) for a few hours on a Saturday afternoon and consummated the deal. Jeep in Signal Hill also submitted a fair quote of around that price as well.

Once you know exactly what truck you want, the dealers are quick to give a fair offer, and will even quote you a price via email. Good luck and hit me up with any questions!

I myself have never had good luck with one off axles from Strange, Moser, Dutchman or any of the other "Top Line" manufacturers.

Actually I have had good results from Alloy or Currie, but I know Jack would be the best, I know he does make the strongest, for the off road side.

I am waiting for the 2009 (assuming it will have a 6.4l). In fact, I already negotiated a price already with my dealer :)
