Took a bit longer to finalise than expected but finally swapped my 07 GC Overland for an 08 SRT today (silver, 17k miles). Was a bit worried that it wouldn't be different enough. How wrong could I be! The noise, the speed, the cornering, and it looks the Business. These seem quite rare in the UK. And did I mention the noise ...? And I can still get wife + 2 young ones, plus Labrador in. I am very happy indeed. This is a quality bit of American muscle :) seems to good to be true ...

I wonder if I should remove the sticker on the visor that says 'Avoid Excessive Speed. But I sort of like the incongruity of having that on a vehicle with a 6.1L HEMI.

Going to go and sit in it now and listen to the engine for a bit ... Nice to feel like a bona fide member at last rather than a lurker.

Cheers!

Thanks Guys, what a warm and friendly place this is :)

Will definitely post some pictures. Yes, it is stock. This forum seems like a good way to get a steer on what I may want to start doing to it though :)

Congrats! As everyone else said, post up some pictures ASAP!

I always like seeing Brits who get the appeal of American muscle, haha. I'll bet gas is a pain over there though.

whats the price of fuel in the UK? I imagine you weren't worried about the price of petrol when you bought it. :)

Congratulations on your ride from another UK owner, you will love it. Just filled the tank, it was'nt empty but I still put £63 worth in:eek: This works out at about $93 and I had a voucher for 5p off/ liter, so I saved nearly £3:rolleyes:

Wow, thanks everyone, what a warm welcome :) - really great to find such a positive sense of community! Also nice to see another UK member too ... Price of fuel admittedly not great over here - 118p ($1.70) per litre for the higher octane unleaded (do we need to use that?) But if fuel costs were really important to me I guess I'd have bought a Prius :) got to be a price to pay for all that noise and fun. Took a few photos today which I'll upload, although it's a stock car at this point so my biggest mod is that I've had the steering wheel moved to the right side :)

Congratulations! Yes you do need to run the higher octane stuff to avoid pinging or knocking. I was in England last summer and saw nothing like an SRT8 Jeep over there! It must be rare indeed. Now you just need cutouts on it to make sure it really gets people's attention!!
