Whats up dudes, just wondering what the resoning is for putting in the lower temp thermos. I mean dont you think the factory put the hotter thermos in for a reason. I mean basically what is the need for a new thermostat?

Guess the truth comes out.....nobody really does now why they are putting the lower temp thermostats in....they are just following eachother in a direction that they have no clue on what the outcome will be

Theoretically, cooler engine=more hp. I installed mine since it was part of the GS ESP/Fan mod. Engine runs cooler all the way around. I do not have any sheets to prove what it has or can do. Probably can ask someone @ GS Motorsports to give you an in depth explanation.

Just to clarify, I work for a Thermostat Manufacturer.

The Temperature picked by the OE Engineers always has several reasons behind it. In today's world, it has to be the best compromise between several factors including, but not limited to, Emissions, Fuel Economy, Power and overall Drivablity.

You can choose a lower temperature for the STO (Start to Open), but make sure that you can get at least the same flow, and NO LEAKAGE at below STO. (This usually means a "rubber" coated valve plate.)

All vehicles sold in the USA are now OBD II equipped, and if the coolant temperature is too low, you could "throw a light" and set a code, (we are having this problem with H3 Hummers right now). If you have a non stock t'stat, good luck having a smooth time with your Dealer and DCX if you have some related failure and you want them to fix it under warranty.

This is why, for now, I am sticking with the stock t'stat, even though my company did not make it.....
