So, minding my business last night cruising home and up comes a SRT Chally on my rear. He stayed back of me for a few seconds then slowly creeped up along side of me. I gave him a thumbs up and he returned the gesture. Stopped at a light a few minutes up the road. And the "trash talk" started. I said "beautiful car, looks fast"! With all due respect i might add. He said "Ya it is, I like the jeeps but wanted something a little sportier" I started laughing and kept my mouth shut on that comment. I piped up "well, take it easy on me then" He said "Nope, this is a SRT, I don't know how to take it easy" So right now I'm thinking this guy isn't gonna know what hit him. Waited for the light to turn green, even paused so he could get a jump. (I was assuming he was stock) He launched, then I hit it... And immedietly passed him like he was standing still. I looked over at him and the expression on his face was priceless. Shut it off around 85, and waited for the guy to catch up. Next lights, he comes rolling up with a stunned look on his face and didn't have anything to say. I said " hey is everything alright with your car?" knowing very well he just got his ass handed to him. "You must have missed a shift", he said "nah... its an auto, I dunno what happened, it usually accelerates much faster than that." So... beiing the ******* I am, I said " You should probably head to the dealer and have it looked at."

Its funny how fast you feel when your pulling away from someone, but when the tables turn and someones pulling on you... Well, you know the feeling.. except the 9 sec monster.


I love how hard these Jeeps launch on the street! Thank you SRT team!

Priceless! Baited him and set the hook like a pro bass fisherman. The other day a fairly nice looking and obviously modified import driven by some kid (you've all seen them everywhere) was next to me; I could see him eyeballing my Jeep so I rolled down the window and asked him if he was interested in running me. He laughed and said "I ain't stupid!". Word must be getting out, but I'm glad to see you generously helping to educate those who don't yet know.

Ya, I've seen and raced enough challys at the track to know what there capable of off the line. They tend to spin and wheel hop if pushed to hard, so I gave him some distance. By the time I was 2 cars a head of him I wasn't pulling on him as hard just slowly creeping away. Thanks for the compliments fellas, I'm still laughing about it.

It was a Shelby GT (not the 500). I think the GT500s are pretty fast but hey, I'm always up for some schooling ;)

Definitely one of the better stories I've heard, haha. I've been itching for a nice kill, but no one wants any of the Jeep. The only person who has agreed is my friend who drives a 328i. It wasn't fair at all, but he said he was sure he would win, so I had to educate him a little.
