: Stupid Dealer
parkstephen 05-09-2007, 12:17 AM I dropped by the closest Jeep 5Star dealer to my house tonight to show a friend the SRT8. This is not the dealer I have bought my last 8 Jeeps from - including recently an 06 Rubicon and an 07 Wrangler.
They had a black and silver on the showroom floor.
Each with a markup of 10,000.00 for a total price of 55000.00. The sales guy walked over and said - as I was sitting in it - "we want to move these today so we'll give you a good deal".
I said I would be ordering mine online or from my usual dealer...for under sticker.
I thanked him for letting me show the car and walked out.
My regular dealer has had a silver one for 5 months - and just took delivery of 5 more in various colors.
10k? Crazy or what?

OurZoo 05-09-2007, 12:42 AM Not crazy as unsuspecting people or stupidly rich people will pay it. Dealers wont stand a chance of getting it if they don't try, right? The majority of the dealers around me do the same thing, but if you play the game right you should get it for sticker at the very least.
shodanusmc 05-09-2007, 07:47 AM Sticker? You can get it for invoice or under Invoice. The Chargers now have a $3500 rebate. With that, count on $7000 under MSRP.

Now, $7000 under MSRP might be stretching it a bit LOL!
Even during the EP program last year, you only could get $5K off MSRP on a fully loaded one.

Theres no stretch in that. Don Conrad of Champion Jeep will sell you a Jeep SRT for $500 under Invoice...The Chargers also for $500 under Invoice, and there is a $3500 rebate on the LX.
You want an SRT, talk to Don Conrad. You want a Corvette, talk to Rick Daniel.
My $7,000 under MSRP was meant for the LX. But to pay Sticker or over is just crazy.
HoustonSRT-8 05-09-2007, 08:37 AM A few years ago when the 2002 Lightnings came out and they were still growing in popularity, a dealer near me had one with a 10k mark-up. My father and I stopped by to check it out and the salesman immediately started circling us like a piece of roadkill. His first comment to me was "That's a hell of a truck." My next comment which ended with us walking away was "That's a hell of a mark-up.". I still laugh about that to this day.
OurZoo 05-09-2007, 08:47 AM You cannot get that type of deal in Los Angeles unless you know someone.
shodanusmc 05-09-2007, 08:49 AM Yes you can...talk to Don, he will deliver it, or ship it.

That's what I meant by a stretch. The prices Don quote on here are still at least $1K more than what I paid during the EP program last year, which was $5K off of MSRP.
EDIT - And I agree, anyone who pays over MSRP now, didn't do their homework

This is what I said....you can get around $7000 off the Charger....which includes the $3500 rebate . For the Jeep, you can get it $500 under Invoice, which is about $3500 under MSRP.
Maybe there will be EP soon for the 07 Jeep SRT.
Now are we on the same page?

All caught up!!!! :)
parkstephen 05-09-2007, 09:19 AM What is Don's handle on here? I have no issues with buying and having it shipped. I mean heck, I had to wait 3 months for my new Wrangler after I ordered it. And now it's up for sale!

jlandbl 05-09-2007, 09:53 AM I haven't seen any posts from the don lately. Maybe I missed em.
ernster 05-09-2007, 10:14 AM I bought me jeep in CT for 43,500 Out the door. I drove it home to NYC. I was driveing around the Neighborhood and passed the Jeep dealership on Northen BLVD and Bell BLVD. They had the same jeep with the same options and the same color on the showroom floor. I walked in interested in checking the price and the deal I got. I walked up to the jeep to check the sticker price and the guy had it marked up to 66,800. My jaw almost hit the floor. I went to the sales person and ask if this was right and he said "Anything with SRT on it gets a 20,000 dollar mark up."
shodanusmc 05-09-2007, 10:21 AM I am sure that jeep with the 20K mark-up will be growing whiskers long before it sells for under MSRP.
There is no reason for any educated shopper to pay more than MSRP, unless the car is really limited and he has a nice fat check book. I have never paid MSRP. The most I paid was 1500 over invoice for an E55. Got my Jeeps and the Bee for less with a $1500 cash back on the Bee at the time. Now its $3500. Amazing what happens in 3 months.

I've been around, just really busy lately! I have more GCSRT8's than I know what to do with now.

Yea he probably sold an SRT-4 for 45k.....

I guess this is true, but Don was not on the website when I bought my GCSRT8. K?:D
Jaybo 05-10-2007, 09:35 AM I had one of the best and easiest deals with Don when I bought my SRT8300, I would highly recomend talking to him ....mine was a very straight up deal, they delivered to my door and picked up my trades....
