If you have the coolant issue please go to the link and add you info for the next SRT session. This has gone on long enough.

I'm aware that a lot of LX owners have experienced the problem, but I can't recall seeing any Jeep SRT owners mentioning it... anyone here have it?

Now I know I should have gotten the Jeep. LOL. We have a couple of Jeep folk who have signed up, so it may have been a small segment that did not escape the contamination. Here is a letter I got from the Chrysler Area Rep for the entire east coast, he addressed the issue but there is still not a concensus fix yet and I posted this letter in the LX and 300 forums in Jan this year. Jeep guys remember before your let you baby get to close to an LX SRT make sure they have been serviced so that your ride doesnt catch this coolant bug going around.:D

So besides the coolant being cloudy, is this problem chemically or mechanically affecting anything?

We really dont know. I mean you see it so early in the mileage of the vehicle that it really has not had a chance to affect anything, at least we hope. A few have over 20k miles with this issue and they say they have suffered no ill affects that they know of. A couple folks have radiator leaks and overheating issues but we have not lost an engine yet to my knowledge. I just dont like the idea of having paid nearly 40K for a car and you look under the hood and the coolant looks like orange cream ice cream and the smell of ammonia brings tears to your eyes. Even after the fix it is back. I am taking it in Friday for another flush and if DCX does not get the fix soon, I am going to try to get it Lemon lawed after the third flush. I will bring some pics here for your review.

yea I always wondered about that,,,,what if that issue is contributed strictly to the location of the coolant container - I mean the gc's are the only ones to have different placement of the container in conjunction to the lx series....someone should do an experiment and for ex. heat up the coolant in a container for a duration of time and see if there are any results ,etc.

Now dont everyone go out and get a coolant filter. Never thought I'd see the day when we would be doing our own warranty work, but it looks like we came up with a better method than the former DCX and SRT. Kudos meat grinder. Dont take the job at Mopar start your own SRT Coolant Solutions Company.
