So I am thinking of taking the crossover tube off and having it powder coated. Does anyone know if it is as easy as it looks to take off? I have only been able to identify 4 nuts (2 on either side) holding it on. Also, is it ok to drive while it is removed? The shop doing the work is telling me I can have it back in 48 hrs. so it would be driven minimally.

About a 5 minute procedure to remove or install. I bet you could drive it easy for a couple of days. If not, I do have a spare to loan out.

BillThanks for the help. If it turns out it is going to take more than a couple of days I may just take you up on your offer.
BTW...that engine compartment looks awesome.

Too bad my engine is too small and needs to be relocated as a core!

Shoot me a PM with your address if you need to borrow the spare "crossover tube".

It's very easy the torque for the bolt's when you put them back in is 70ft lbs the top bolt on the pass side you need a shallow socket the others a deep socket will be fine and the socket size is 18mm

Where did you have it done and how long was the down time? That really looks nice and with the DUB CAI and polished intake, I think it would mesh well.
Thanks,

Thanks,
I sent mine to New York: www.4chrome.com (http://www.4chrome.com) (21st Century Finishes, Inc.)
$ 450.00 for the show chrome and about 4 weeks.

I am certain many guys on this Forum have someone less expensive and quicker. Please don't get me wrong, they did a great job, but I used them to do an actual hard chrome plating on the actual valve covers (not engine covers). Those take about 8-10 weeks and are not yet completed. You don't want to know what they cost to hard plate!
