I believe there are many places locking pins are found. It really depends on what ones your talking about. Hood,Trailer hitch, Crank etc...

Where did you hear if it?

Upgrading the locking pins (to me anyway) means unscrewing the stock lock pins from the door tops, and replacing them with the billet ones that many people have.

I upgraded my locking pins, by removing them completely. Then I went over the top of the holes (and the rest of the door tops) with upholstery.
