Went to Island dragway in Jersey to get some baseline #'s before I ship my car off to HHP for engine work. They were holding some special event which brought at least 500 cars there to run, so in 4 hours I got to make 4 passes. A bit of a ripoff for $30. First run in Drive, powered to 2000 rpm's, 180 degrees on temp readout, 63 degrees, cool and windy with traction control on. Bogged out of whole ( traction control works ), 1.97 60 foot, 8.8 1/8 and 13.77 quarter at 100 mph..VOMIT!!! 3 hours later next run auto stick, traction off, same temps, launched at 2200 rpm's, 1.86 60 foot, 8.6 1/8 and 13.53 quarter at 100mph. Still nothing too impressive. Stock engine with DUB cai and magnaflow catback. Disappointing, but not too bad for what it is. I've read some impressive #s on here and was hoping for 13.40s which I think I could've hit with a few more passes. The first run, tranny stalled 1-2 and 2-3 shifts, second run only at 1-2 shift. Other bad thing is it shifts into 4 just before crossing the line which costs a tenth or two. I think waiting another 3 hours for a better time wasn't worth it so I'll have to stick with what I got and see what happens after HHP gets done with ALL THE WORK (heads, cam, intake, thermostat, headers, high flow cats, 2800 stall, B&G stage II, fan mod, esp mod, and hopefully some TCM upgrade soon).
A few good things of the day was that the jeep got tons of attention and I actually pulled a 12.5 stang till about half track...

you are launching at too high RPM. I wouldn't go above 1500. I think the PCM actually retards the launch when you try to power brake past a certain RPM..

Also, definitely need to turn off the traction control.

Are you sure your trap speeds are correct? 13 flat at 89.5 and a 12.98 at 92.7 seems really low. With those et's you should be up over a 100mph.

I agree. When I ran a 13.09 it was at 106mph w my old SVT Lightning. Somethings off.

yeaa really--i ran 13.20 even and my et was 103.50---and i launched from 2,200 rpms and didnt notice the computer stepping in--my truck was totally stock soo i might be thinking that dub air intake is ur problem--good luck

My truck is consistant 13.2's stock. But if I power brake at all .. it seems to jump up considerably. Last week I hit 13.7 with the A/C, TC on and powerbraking to 1800. :)

You may be right, these trucks seem to be completely computer limited so it may not behave like a normal car. Thinking as long as there is no wheel spin, the higher the RPM launch the better, but who knows with these things. I completely agree with traction control. I was planning on more runs to get some data differences but unfortunately they were having time trials for everyone and their sister in all different classes and it wasn't worth the time to wait around again. I'd love to go back on a day I could get 4 + passes in, but I don't know if its worth 30 bucks. I think with a few more passes I could've at least hit 13.4 maybe better, no telling. I just may have a slow one. Thanks for the input.

Which CAI seems to be putting down helpful #s more consistently?

All this talk makes me wanna go back to the track. I'm guessing all tracks are pretty much equal, Island dragway seemed like a decent track. I would definitely like more launches....I see people vary nearly .5 seconds with multiple launches.

Where are you located?? Im located in western canada about 2200 ft above sea level. Guys at the track told me sea level to where i am is good fo .5 I am consistantly running 13.6 bone stock. I just put on a DUB Intake....Ill go to the track this weekend and see what happens (so far i dont like it i think i will be slower) I have heard (Now) that volant is best

The dub and magnaflow is what is killing your times the dub and magnaflow catback had been dyno tested to lose hp/tq.
