had a great time today. the weather was beautiful but windy. they had to shorten the races to the 1/8th because of the crosswinds at the end of the track (15-25 mph gusts). this was kind of a bummer but oh well, we were still racing.

i raced and lost in the third round (sweet 16). we both redlighted (me -.008 him -.012) but i broke out (8.38 on a 8.41 dial) and he didn't.:(

i learned a lesson in that final race and it goes like this, if you redlight, run the race as if you didn't and blip the gas at the end if you have the lead so you don't break out. i had him at the end and could of won but i kept the pedal to the metal figuring that since i redlighted i was done. rookie mistake. i didn't know he redlighted until i picked up my time slip and read the results.

i had a total of 5 runs (2 practice & 3 elimination rounds)

1st practice---8.43 at 80.95 mph (1.83 60ft), opponent, neon srt4---8.92 at 87.59 mph (2.15 60ft)
2nd practice---8.43 at 80.89 mph (1.82 60ft), opponent, ram srt10---9.92 at 70.89 mph (2.28 60ft)

dialed an 8.41

1st elimination---8.53 at 69.88 mph (1.82 60ft) let off before finish line. opponent, charger srt8---8.67 at 83.18 mph (2.06 60 ft)
2nd elimination---8.52 at 73.10 mph (1.82 60ft) blipped throttle a couple times before finish line, opponent, dakota---9.43 at 72.01 (2.06 60ft)
3rd elimination---8.38 at 81.95mph (1.81 60ft) redlighted, should of blipped, broke out, lost. opponent, late 60s dart swinger---7.45 at 92.29 mph (1.67 60ft)

anyway the place was packed with all mopar muscle. as far as our little niche in the mopar world, i saw 4 charger str8s (including a super bee), a couple charger srts, a bunch of neon srt4s, and one crossfire srt6. all racing. i was the lone grand cherokee and if i say so myself, i put on a good show for the crowd. i had many people not familiar with the jeep amazed at what it would do on the track and this included quite a few of the 5-6 second car drivers.:D

i didn't get a chance to walk over & look at the car show but the show area was full to the brim.

anyway keep an eye out for the 25th annual all mopar meet next year & try to make it, you won't be disappointed.

Congrats on the runs!
I bet you did put up a good show, 3 rounds is very good.
And I know the feeling of being the only GC at the track.
BTW, we have the 21st Annual Mopars @ Etown Nationals this coming May 18, 19 & 20th weekend. MIght be a little too far for you to make it but it would be great if you can.
