: Since everyone tells me to lower, where do I go H&R, eibach or bwoody

So after i had my wheels installed and posted pics nearly everyone is saying to lower so now i am going to do it, talk about peer pressure.

So i spent last night searching, researching, and reading all the post on what are considered the best springs for our trucks. allot of opinions, but also allot of changed opinions, people switching from bwwody to eibach and loving it, and others going the other way and loving it, then a couple guys show up with H&R and they love it, and equal number of people going the other way, confused? yeah me too.

So I am hoping to clear up the pros/cons and info about all the spring choices so i can make and informed decision: please add to the list if needed

Eibach 1.0" F / 1.1" R

Pro's: Don't bottom out anymore, maintains the rake look, truck handles on rails, smooth ride (to some)

Con's: wish the rear was lower (to some), Stiff (to some)

Bwoody 1.0" F / 1.7" R

Pro's: Truck is level, Smooth ride

Con's; Bottoms out, Bouncy (to some), Too soft (to some)

H & R Controversial (but consensus seems to be same as eibach, little lower in rear)

Pro's: Great Ride, No bottoming out,

Con's: Expensive, not very common

Now I am sure everyone has differing opinions, but i am trying to be as unbiased as possible and just provide a thread with the most complete info. so if you have anything to add try to be as subjective as possible. I am leaning towards eibachs myself right now, but the H&R have me wondering as they seem to be right in the middle .

I am also going to have subs & a amp in my hatch so i am wondering if the extra weight it would be better to go with eibachs since the weight will compress the rear spring a little.

eibachs are perfect. Your right about the weight in the back. If you decide to put anything heavy back there, it will lower it. Eibachs provide a nice ride. They are also at a fair price.

Eibach and haven't bottom out yet since day 1 and even with 4 heads in the car plus rides 10x better than stock .

From what I read the H&R's don't lower the rear quite as much as the Eibachs. I may have misread what you were typing but I don't think they are lower than the Eibachs.

H&R's here, the drop isnt as much as the eibachs however with a heavy load in the back it just may get there! :rolleyes: But I will say the ride is sweet, unfortunately no one else in my area has lowered with eibachs so I dont have first hand comparison. Here is my measurements taken from a flat garage floor so you can measure yours and see. On Ebay mine were cheaper than the eibachs by about $70 I think.

LF= 31.25" RF= 31 5/8"
LR= 32.5" RR= 32 3/4"

These heights are center tire from floor to bottom of fender lip. I didnt measure mine before the install so if youd measure your stock heights and post them Id be curious to see what my drop actually was. I should ad that mine have settled a little more IMO but Im on the boat and cant re-measure.

I have the Eibachs and have never had any Bottoming out issues with them. I had the measurements for mine, but misplaced the paper somewhere. So below is the measurements that Mr.Freeze told me he had. Also just recieved my Rebate check as a matter a fact from Eibach for 27.xx and I believe they are still offering it.

measurements...31" rear on both sides
...30" front on both sides
these measurements were going from center ground to fenderwell.

When I bought my Springs Eibach was running a rebate of 10% I believe from the purchase price. So when I bought them I filled a form out and mailed it to Eibcah that I got from their site and I just got my 27 dollar and some change check in the mail yesterday.

I think its more accurate to measure from the top of the rim edge to the bottom of the fender edge, eliminates tire wear and tire pressure differences from the equation

the H&R's are built for the non-srt WK.......I can barely see any drop from them. I had the non-srt eibachs before my bwoodys and I didnt care for the drop at all. I may try the SRT Eibcahs next.
