Well I took my stock 06 GCSRT8 to the drag strip last night. It was cool and the place was dead so i got to make 6 passes.

First pass was right off the street after an hour drive.
13.30 @ 101.93mph 1.81 60'.

after that i made the next 5 passes with 15 to 20 mins between each run.

pretty consistant runs
13.24 @ 102.44 mph 1.797 60'
13.29 @ 102.23 mph 1.81 60'
13.26 @ 102.66 mph 1.86 60'
13.25 @ 102.38 mph 1.82 60'
13.29 @ 102.49 mph 1.85 60'

Pretty happy with the truck. Now let the mods begin!

Geez... talk about concistancy!!!
That was awesome runs man... congrats.
With a 13.23 dial-in you would have rocked the place last night if it was a bracket event. Maybe next time?

Well done. Leave it in drive and floor it? Do you have the shift TSB?

You have yourself 1 very consistent truck there a few mods and your in the 12's no doubt!

Im shocked you did not get into the 12's with that 1.7 60' pass, when I see a 1.7 60' at the track im good for atleast a 12.9

Maybe he hit the rev limiter on 1-2?

He has an 2006, if he did his times would be in the 13.5-13.6 range or above.

Does he have the transmission TSB for the 2006's?

I did have the trans TSB done last week.

I left it in drive and floored it on every run but one. On the other i used autostick and let it shift by itself, that was the 13.29 run.

I think if it was running cooler i would have been alot closer to the 12's. The temp of the jeep was between 220 and 234 all night.

I'm no expert...(only have 160miles on mine)... but a 180 stat could cure your heat problems... drop in a k&n w the snorkel mod and I say 12's!

That's exactly my set-up. I went to the track 2 days ago and had 6 runs all between 13.00 to 13.08 @106 with 60' of 1.81 to 1.85.
Track had no prep and no one could hook well off the line.

swerd... What other mods are you thinking of doing? B&G flash maybe?
Yeah, try the brackets man, I think you'll do great.

EX-SVTMAN... will you be tracking yours after it's broken-in?
Got to see how it runs on the hot weather, don't worry we'll do the conversion to cold weather to show you nice numbers.
Better yet, you are welcome to come up here in November or December to join us at ATCO for some impresive numbers, just ask Tony or me if my 14.3 out of my 5.7L counts.

Good consistent times. I have both the SRT8 and a 2002 Ford Lightning pckup. The Lightning ran 13.3's with street tires and really had to pedal it until it hooked up.
I have not run the SRT8 yet but my gut feeling the Lightning is faster. I am thinking that the Lightning is way underated from the factory.
I have two corvettes, one is a ZR-1 and a modified 2000, and for the money the Lightning is the best bang for the buck.
I think I have owned 50 cars in my lifetime and been racing since I was 16 with a 55 Chevy for my first car.
For the money the SRT8 is a pretty good deal in today's market. Look at the cost of the ML65 and Porsche. Plus you can modify the SRT8 at a reasonable cost. Try modifying a Mercedes product and buy parts from Carlsson, Brabus, Lorinser or Renn Tech. Then you will see what $$$$ are spent.
First and foremost mod for the SRT8 is get rid of the Run Flats. May not go faster but it sure will ride better.
Depending how fast you want to go, every half second off the ET at the track will cost substantially, and the lower the ET the higher the mods cost. Trust me I have spent a lot of money on my Corvette to lower the ET by a full second.
