: Picked my new paint Color!! Did a complete 180
kgrencer 04-28-2010, 09:39 AM Hey Guys. First let me thank ALL of you for your help in choosing my new color, and in helping me see the positive side of a very bad situation. That is why I really like this group.
Here we go. After talking with my painter, and pro's and con's of different types of paint finishes I have pulled a complete 180 and chose an awesome color. It is Telesto Grey found on the Lamborghini Gallardo. I have a paint code of 0098, and hope that will translate into a PPG code!
What do you all think??

jps043 04-28-2010, 09:42 AM I like it on the lambo, its a bit plain, but I'm excited to see it on the jeep.
YYCSRT8 04-28-2010, 09:49 AM I think if you did the wheels up the same it would look good. Could look suspect with the chrome wheels though.
rbbvtx 04-28-2010, 09:49 AM would probably look great on the jeep, but I think I'd want to go with the black wheels too. think it looks sick on the lambo with that combination. Also sweet how the brake calipers get highlighted. good luck
robpp 04-28-2010, 09:50 AM that with a darker gray trim would be sweet.
have you seen peptizon 's paint? he did a grand cherokee color.mineral gray metallic. im partial but it looks KILLER.
IMO it looks a little like primer, but would look good as mentioned above, do away w/your chrome & go w/black wheels.
Dman70 04-28-2010, 10:10 AM I don't like it much to tell you the truth. It doesn't look like it has any depth. Would painting your Jeep a different color affect your resale price? I am partial to the silver you already had. I think that is the best color for the Jeep. I am not at all impartial though since I have a silver Jeep.
BOYCHIKS 04-28-2010, 10:45 AM It's gunnna look awesome!
supabusa 04-28-2010, 11:51 AM Gonna look great but I like the color beside it the best. Ummm Blue mm. That's the great thing about Individuality. Make it your own.
af_maineiac 04-28-2010, 12:03 PM I say go for it. It's YOUR rig - paint it any color you like! :D
Here's a neat thread with some very well done Photoshops. Wait until you see the plum crazy purple one!

kokanee13 04-28-2010, 12:18 PM I liked your other paint choices. I don't think that will look good on the Jeep. It doesn't have the lines the lambo does. Sorry, but if you didn't want feedback, you wouldn't post this on the net. Don't do it, you'll hate it!
The_Bone21 04-28-2010, 12:36 PM Looks plain to me… but to each his own

Gotta go along with you on this one regarding color. Since op asked, to me it kind of looks like battleship gray. No depth or "pop" to it.
And yes, a repaint can definitely effect resale. Particularly if you go to trade it in a couple of years. And more particularly if you don't spend "major" bucks, well upward of 5 grand, and completely disassemble and paint everything to include under hood area, all the door jams, and every where else that has been done at the factory. That is very time consuming and expensive.
But has been said, it's his call and his ride. :)
kgrencer 04-28-2010, 03:40 PM Thanks for your input. Yes I am going to be having the complete car disassembled including removing all doors, bumpers, and glass.
Paint job will be around $8K
YoungMedic23 04-28-2010, 04:10 PM If I was getting a free paint job I would have gone with a color that isn't MORE subtle than stock
That color will hide ALL the lines of the Jeep and there's really no shine to it. Just because it looks good on an exotic lambo doesn't mean it will make your jeep look anymore exotic. That appears to be the basis of your choices is supercar colors.....
It just doesn't work that way man...
Hey it's your Jeep do what you please....obviously other modded Jeep SRT owners opinions haven't swayed you the least
What do we know anyways? We all have factory colors!
WESLEY KAY 04-28-2010, 04:12 PM What a couple others said....it's your rig, paint it with what color you want.
Personally I like the blue next to the gray though. I think someone said that as well. I dig a good blue. The gray looks too much like a battleship or a primer.
Good luck though! Do whatever makes you happy man...
