This SRT is fantastic - I drove to my son's apartment on E10th Ave from my home in Erie - exactly 425 miles. Drove there last saturday and drove back on sunday. What a blast - Here are some observations about the SRT.

The ave. fuel consumption went from 11.9 to 14.5 MPG

Tire pressure went from 34 - 41 PSI

Speeds from 85 - 120 mph - left at 12:00 noon arrived 6.15

PM - stopped once for GAS - took snack with me (My wife's home made bread)

Surprised several M3, M5, jag and a plethera of miscellaneous SUVs - left them all behind.

Steady easy handling - a little scary on the bends at 120 mph

Sirius radio fantastic - set radar detector very loud and it went off 10 times. 6 traffic signs fitted with radar, 4 police

I saw three SRT8s - two black , one red all in New Jersey
We waived at each other and we all looked very happy!

This vehicle is one of the most fun vehicles I've ever owned. I've had some that cost more than twice this price that don't compare!

This saturday I'm driving to Montreal - 488 miles - can't wait:D

Sounds like a fun trip. Jersey must be loaded with these things! I'm going to Iowa this weekend (zzzzzz), I doubt I'll see to many SRT8s on the road.

Food is not allowed in my car. Bottled drinks must have a top on them.

NJ has the second highest allocation I believe. Not to mention, it's very densly populated. I see them all over.

Hmm....I wonder if our Jeeps get better mileage if the tire is overinflated a bit....

It was a blast - I figured the extra MPG was because of changing from city to highway. However I rarely got below 3000 RPM so I was pleased with 14.5 mpg

Ink - you get around with your truck more than anyone I know (know of). Sounds like a great time. Good luck with radar in Montreal. And no rights on red lights...

Hey Kramsay
I'll keep the radar low (Not on the screen)
Really no right on red - I forgot that
Its actually shorter according to my navigation to go south of the lake to Syracuse then turn left so most of the trip will be I90

I hadn't driven in Quebec for about a year, but went down 2 weekends ago to pick my bike up. I forgot about the no right turns on red lights until I got there.

Safe trip.

Like/Love to drive mine too....Tampa to Miami, Keys, GA, VA, Cape Cod, Texas, wherever and whenever. Load up the bike and go. Just over 28,000 on it now, (and that's splitting trips with the M) no problems, still 20-25% tread left, no chips through the clear bra.

Probably the most fun, most reliable, (to date) vehicle for the price I've ever had. Can't wait for the 09.......

Like they say, I plan to "keep on trucking" .....at least til the butts and little oxygen tank get me, or some honey ties me up, or down:) ....at which time I'll probably turn into a Wal-Mart greeter....(no offense intended):D
