i searched, but didn't find much info on this. under very mild driving the oil temp is ~240. seems damn high to me considering i have to track my z06 to see temps that high.
does anyone know what the normal operating range for oil temp is on the jeep? what is everyone else seeing?
thanks

47 views and no replies? do you guys own jeeps? do they use oil?
:D
took mine for the first trip this past weekend. running right at 240 at highway speeds, that seems to be the norm.

I am at around 240 also. I guess these motors like to run hot, but still it is disconcerting to see the oil temp that hot.

I just keep the display on compass and temp that way I don't know how hot the oil really is.

I also swiched to Amsoil and I wish I had checked before swiched as my temp is now not over 230. I don't know if it was higher before.

If my memory is correct, it was about or around the same temps stated above, sometimes up to 245. On 70-75 degree day, it runs even lower, around 200-210 but I forgot to add, I have a 190 degree thermostat. I dont notice any decrease in power when the motor runs cooler. Some say they lose power going cooler, some say they gain. Who knows?:)
