Tim C 04-21-2010, 07:35 AM Under the Jeep, directly to the exhaust manifolds, next to the transmission.
Very fast spool time with No Lag.

Blown-WK 04-21-2010, 07:51 AM Pretty sick setup. I'd like to see some more turbo jeeps out there.
jps043 04-21-2010, 07:57 AM Wow thats some serious stuff right there. I have a feeling this is what can break the 11 second barrier consistently!
Muellge 04-21-2010, 08:18 AM Wow thats some serious stuff right there. I have a feeling this is what can break the 11 second barrier consistently!
Set on higher boost, I'd say your right, depending on size of engine its mated to.

rconner 04-21-2010, 01:33 PM Do you need a 2010 test mule?? P.M. sent
First Jeep 04-21-2010, 01:36 PM Hey Tim,
Do you need to beef up or modify the stock 6.1 engine internals to handle this kit?
Or is it safe with around 6-8 psi & tune?
BOYCHIKS 04-21-2010, 02:18 PM Hey Tim,
Do you need to beef up or modify the stock 6.1 engine internals to handle this kit?
Or is it safe with around 6-8 psi & tune?
+1 on that..
Also, you say $500 off in May, what about for April?!
rconner 04-21-2010, 03:34 PM Are you going to have to run a methanol injection?
eddiefig 04-21-2010, 03:55 PM Man, I need money or a sugar momma. Lol.
Odvious 04-21-2010, 04:10 PM Just out of curiosity why doesn't the kit have the Turbonetics Wastegate?
I really like Turbonetics stuff and have run the 62mm before and their wastegate's.
Is the turbosmart better or something or is it a cost thing?
What is the price if you ship a kit without the Predator?
JohnsonSRT8 04-21-2010, 04:36 PM Man any one want to buy my vortech lol
AirForce Hemi 04-21-2010, 04:39 PM Man, I need money or a sugar momma. Lol.
QFT!!!!!!!!!
AWDFTW 04-21-2010, 06:23 PM What is the price of the kit w/o the install & would it be a direct bolt on with no fabbing needed? I only ask because it doesn't make sense for me to ship my Jeep to ya'll when I know I can get it installed next to nothing here in TX at my buddies shop, minus the shipping costs also.
YogiSRT8 04-21-2010, 06:55 PM Man any one want to buy my vortech lol
If the price is right I'll buy it...
There are some pics of the srt-8 kit on car on Hellion website if you search google. Nothing about the jeep though but it will at least give you guys the idea about where the turbos are and underhood look.
AWDFTW 04-21-2010, 07:32 PM I also wanna know how yall keep the filters dry, because you can't see any good pics of the filters?
Tim C 04-21-2010, 07:50 PM Hey Tim,
Do you need to beef up or modify the stock 6.1 engine internals to handle this kit?
Or is it safe with around 6-8 psi & tune?
This kit will make equal or more power at 4psi than a supercharger kit at 7psi.
System is safe at the same 4-8psi range like the Vortech supercharger systems we sell everyday.
Like with any type of forced induction, those seeking higher boost (8+psi) and 530WHP+ should look into our forged 6.1 or 426 stroker engine packages.
Tim C
Tim C 04-21-2010, 07:52 PM +1 on that..
Also, you say $500 off in May, what about for April?!
Even with 2 dynos and a 20 bay shop, we are booked a solid 2-3 weeks out.
May is as soon as we can get anyone new in.
We can take deposits though.
Tim C
Tim C 04-21-2010, 07:54 PM Are you going to have to run a methanol injection?
No, this kit comes with a large air to air intercooler that is good for 20psi.
You can always add Snow Performance water/meth for added cooling/octane if you so choose.
Tim C
Tim C 04-21-2010, 07:57 PM Just out of curiosity why doesn't the kit have the Turbonetics Wastegate?
I really like Turbonetics stuff and have run the 62mm before and their wastegate's.

What is the price if you ship a kit without the Predator?
Hmm, good questions about the wastegate. I cannot properly answer that at the moment.-LOL
Prices listed earlier did not include the Predator. I listed in the thread that I can add one for $250 extra. Kits will be shipped for approx $8,599

SVT_GT500 04-21-2010, 08:24 PM Hellion turbo systems are great!!!! Some guy has 1200 RWHP on his shelby with a TT set-up with them. I would love to see someone get this for their rig.
AirForce Hemi 04-21-2010, 08:31 PM Question.....
Just looked on their web site and they dont show for the SRT Jeep.
Whats in the kits you have compared to the ones for the LX cars?
1BAMFR 04-21-2010, 08:56 PM I have a few questions...
$8,600--Shipped
$9,400--Installed
So, You're charging only $800 for install?
What about the tune? Are you mailing canned Turbo tunes inside of the predators?
Or...Will you need to dyno it after install?
Stage 1 injectors will be enough for a TT kit?
AWDFTW 04-21-2010, 10:27 PM Is this gonna be a direct bolt on? Or is there gonna be some fabbing that needs to be done, or ya'll will take care of that for us and then ship it out?
kazaam 04-21-2010, 10:42 PM $9,400--Installed? wow
jkalbin 04-21-2010, 11:40 PM My pants have somehow become tighter.... And I have a feeling my wallet will be getting lighter in the future... Are you guys magicians? :D

GlobeWarmer09 04-22-2010, 08:08 AM This got the gears turning in my head...I almost reached for the check book immediately when I saw this...can you just imagine what it will sound like!!??:D:D
GlobeWarmer09 04-22-2010, 11:02 AM I also wanna know how yall keep the filters dry, because you can't see any good pics of the filters?
This is kind of a concern of mine too. Along with the shock of water hitting the ultra hot turbine side. I know you wouldn't typically drive something like this through puddles or in the snow but is this still a legitimate concern?
AirForce Hemi 04-25-2010, 08:30 AM Any other info on this kit?

Sorry for the delay, I just found time to hop back on here. We are crazy busy! Even with 2 dynos and a 20 bay garage, we are booked 2 weeks out or more.
Yes, $8600 would be if it were going to be shipped to you.
$9,400 is installed here. We will need to add a few hours of dyno tuning to the cost as well. (same for any forced induction/heads and cam type install here)
We will provide a tune for complete stock Jeeps with just this turbo kit.
Stage 1 inj are fine for this combo. (Just like with Vortechs)
If you are going to crank up the boost(seeking over 500WHP), you will need larger injectors.

Tim C 04-29-2010, 08:26 AM Is this gonna be a direct bolt on? Or is there gonna be some fabbing that needs to be done, or ya'll will take care of that for us and then ship it out?
No custom "fabbing" for you. Will require the same basic install as the car kits.

ZERO issues with water. To a person that doesnt know, water hitting the turbo "sounds" like it would be a bad thing, but in reality there are no issues.

diegom6 04-29-2010, 10:57 AM Any oficiall photos of the kit installed in a Jeep? Curious to see how does it bolt on. I have a customer who's lookign to F.I. his brand new SRT-8 2010 in the near future and this could be a tentative option against the Vortech system. He already have a Subaru with over 550AWHP but that thing keeps breaking appart lol.
Does you tune for stock 6.1L feature over boost protection, you know, in case the WG stuck close ot the vaccum/boost hose get loose.
Thanks

Tim C 05-24-2010, 02:30 PM On Hemi vehicles (Challengers, Chargers, 300s, and Jeeps) there is no safe guard if boost were to raise too high due to parts failure. We can just remove all the timing and hope you let out of the gas.
I have yet to ever see this happen so far.

It would be cool if you could add or develope this kind of feature to protect the engine. In the turbo world, "you never know"......;)
When do you estimate your kit it's going to hit the roads/dyno and throw some official photos Tim!?
Tim C 05-24-2010, 05:25 PM As soon as a few of you all step up to a kit. Challengers kits are selling well, Jeeps havent taken off yet. -- Our Vortech prices are soo low, I guess everyone jumps on them.

Newfiebullet 05-24-2010, 05:57 PM How much of a problem would these be to install on a jeep with headers? would there be much fab work? also where are the Air filters located?
Sorry for the questions, im just interested.
Newfie.
Tim C 05-25-2010, 07:57 AM It would require some charge pipe and hotside pipe changes. Its nothing a experienced custom speed shop couldn't handle.
We would love to help you here with this.
Come on out.
Tim C
Newfiebullet 05-25-2010, 08:16 AM That right there is my problem, im to far away from any shops, i need somethng i can just bolt on........

Any updates? Did anyone ever step up and buy a kit? Are they still available?
Tim C 02-21-2011, 06:34 AM Nope, we have installed single rear mount systems but not the Mid-Twins.
Tim C
Jack_Toepfer 03-14-2011, 07:09 PM Horsepower TV just had the Challenger on the show again... with the Hellion kit.
Great kit. Can't believe all the rich guys around here and nobody bought it yet.
MightyGregu 04-14-2011, 01:32 PM Out of curiosity, what's the price difference between the single turbo and the twin kit? If there is a substantial one, is there a perceivable difference in lag time or any other performance criteria between them to justify the extra cost?
Also, the pics at the beginning of this thread don't seem to load correctly. I'm curious to see if you mount to the stock manifold. Is there a direct link to some pics on the net or something?
Thanks

They dont make a kit for the Jeep.
Jack_Toepfer 04-14-2011, 07:11 PM This kit is based off of the same idea. I didn't mean to imply that Hellion offered the kit, but since it was in this thread I assumed people would know I was talking about the kit in here.
If people wanted to see how 2 turbos mounted to the manifolds tucked into the tranny tunnel operated on a 6.1L Hemi... they could watch Horsepower TV and get a real good idea. Since no pictures or videos of this kit are available. :(
I'll re-state my other comment as well...
All of the rich guys on here, and nobody has bought this kit yet.
