Just tried te 2wd mode by pulling the fuses. All i have to sa is that it is fun. but my rear tires are disappearing fast. The car "feels" faster from a roll like this but alot slower off the line. Anyways here is the crappy vid i took with my phone:

Any check engine light come on after this? Does the computer keep a record of these fuses being absent? I'm just wondering if a warranty can be voided due to this before I try it. ;)

No CEL, but 3 lights do come on: the tracion control light(no big deal), the ABS light, and the ESP/BAS light. and an on screen warning comes on that say check 4 wd drive system. i think the lights are probably stored as coming on but i dont think they could ever prove you pulled the fuses to cause that therefore warentee will be fine.

I guess, but probably only 1 mpg or something. i cant imagine it making to much of a difference but after going around for 2 days like that the computer did go up from 12.2 mpg to 12.4 mpg so who knows.

Im almost positive it doesnt have limited slip because around corners in 2wd i can floor it and only one tire will spin because of the weight transfer. But whenever ive done burnouts both tires spin. i have no idea why that is but i think during a burn out there is just so much hp that both can break loose and spin and the weight is evenly distributed. just my thoughts.

You moved forwards as you lit up the tires. Hold it still next time and build up a small cloud of smoke. :D

oh i have done that a few times but after 2 days of 2wd and burning out everywhere I go my tires are already at half tread so i don't want to do it for to long. once the tires are shot i will do a HUGE burn out and film it.

As superficial as this may be, this 2wd/4wd at the flip of a switch feature with the SRT8 is among some of my favorite interest in it. If you're going to have a hot rod SUV, it is arguably a must.

I'm impressed the the rear open diff locked up both tires. I've seen open diffs work both ways, sometimes they'll burn one tire, other times both. No excuse why there's no aftermarket support for a locking rear yet.... absolutely stupid.
