Well, just got the tire recall completed and I now have 4 new tires and all I pay is the tire tax which comes to a whole $4.00 :D
What a bargain. And I had just under 12,000 miles on the original tires. God, I love the customer satisfaction campaign!!!!
The $4.00 was for the "state tire tax". I wasn't about to complain. Slip states fronts retail for $320 and rear for $350. $1,340 worth of new tires for $4.00......no complaints here. And the allignment is fine, with no damage to the wheels. Even feels as though it drives smoother.

I tried to get mine covered yesterday, but Discount said my tires were not defective, but my alignment was off and I needed front tires soon......yeah, I'm sure that they weren't trying to sell new tires....

With under 4K miles, I didn't want to give the tire monkeys a chance to fu©kup my wheels. Tires are still running straight & true. Besides, I'm getting Michelin Dimaris(sp?) 315s & 275s when the Goodys are done.

I guess I don't blame you since you have 4K miles on them, but heck, 12K miles on mine, and probably a third of the way or more through the life of the tires, it was a no brainer for me. Just wish I had burnt them up nicely during the 2-3 weeks it took for them to get them in stock. I did get all 4 spinning the other day pulling out of my development.

Is the recall only on 2006 or both 2006 and 2007?

I think you mean "damnit, I should have bought an 06", since it is the 06s that got the tire recall. Hope you didn't miss out

How funny! I was told the same thing by a goodyear shop. They were very thorough and showed me what they were looking for in a defective tire. All my tires were fine except one that was about done due to misalignment....I ended up buying two new front tires....I got a deal at 300 per....+ 100 for alignment. What do they say..there is one born every minute...:D

It is CRAZY the difference between certain shops. The location where I got mine put on didn't even tell me they checked them. Made it sound as though they replace them automatically. They had had two other GCs in before me, and replaced all four on both of them as well.
They ordered the new tires. When they came in I dropped the GC off, and got a call two hours later that they were on and I was good to go.
I think some people here got screwed to be honest.
