Do any of you have the GSM Valve (engine) covers on your Jeep SRT8 ? I understand that the GSM covers were fabricated for the LX models, and I'm trying to determine if it will fit our Jeeps without any mods.

Thanks............Glenn

Thanks............Glenn Actually Glenn they are slightly different.
You will need to "relieve" the LX covers in 2 places I believe per side. I had stock LX covers painted Hemi orange and they would not seat until a couple more notches were added. No big deal on the stock type plastic ones....I'm sure the GSM covers are easy to modify also.

Bill:

The Jeep plastic covers have (2) mounting connectors which snap onto (2) studs on the valve covers underneath. Are you saying that the LX cover's mounting connectors line up exactly with the studs on the Jeep ? I am assuming that the notches that you refer to are other clearance issues which must be made to the covers, and not the mounting positions of the connectors which mounts the studs. Assuming that the correct notches are made, will the covers snap onto the studs ?

Thank you very much for your assistance & patience.... I have not been able to get any answers from our local dealership, or from GS Motorsports.

Aloha...............Glenn

Aloha...............Glenn Glenn,

Yes, the clearance issues are due to the size / shape of the clearance "cut outs". Once you slightly enlarge a couple of the the cutouts to match the Jeeps, the covers snap right on.
Hope this helps!

I have them on my truck the only place you need to reshape is the pass side cover in the front there is a big wiring harness for the coil's and injectors just take a 1 or 2" sanding wheel on the end of a drill or a dremel and sand down about 1/4 to 1/2" for clearance and go get some soft tape @ the hardware store about 1/16" thick and stick it on the back side of the bottom part of the covers because they sit on top of the coil's and they make noise other than that they fit just fine the only problem is getting them from GSM I got the run around for a month just do yourself a favor just tell them you want what they have in stock and whatever backdrop color they have the covers are powder coated but just bring them to any body shop and they can paint them and the back drop's are only colored plexi glass
