Some of you may remember me. I have had a 2008 jeep srt8 that I traded, bought back and traded again. The last time I traded it for a 2010 dodge ram crew cab. From the second week that I had it it has been nothing but problem after problem. Well chrysler has agreed to buy it back ad they told me to go to the dealer and buy or order a new vehicle. I had my heart set on a new 2010 jeep srt8. Well the new car manager broke my bubble when he tried to order it and it came back no more orders for this vehicle. Well I thought I would try a 2011 charger srt8 but when he tried to order that it came back not yet available for order. I was bummed out all weekend and wasnt sure what I wanted. I ended up settling for a 2010 fully loaded charger srt8. Not the vehicl that I wanted and no where near the fun of the jeep. I hope they make a new jeep srt8 in 2012 as I know I won't be happy with the charger for very long.

Why would you buy a vehicle you don't want? I'm sure they could have found you a 2010 from another dealership.

Exactly what I was gunna say. Looks like the dealer pressured you into sumthing that you didn't want and won't be happy with.
I don't get it either....
I had an 06 Charger SRT-8 and loved it. I traded it in for my Jeep last month for several reasons, but both are great cars...
Why didn't you keep the 08 Jeep?
In my area there are 28 New 2010 GC SRT's at dealers within 200 miles. In every color too. Only one Modern Blue.

They already said it , but you could have had them shop other dealerships for what you wanted. But on a different note...its not like you bought a POS! You can make the Charger faster than the Jeep right now with all of them stuck at the 11.0 mark LOL!

you can't place an order for one but if your dealer has ANY relationships with other dealers at all they'll locate one on a lot for you.
We need a sticky FAQ for 2010 SRT8 threads

There is only one 2010 srt jeep in Minnesota right now and we spoke to them and they refused to sell it on a buyback. They said they can get more money retail. The dealer only gets 300 for the deal. The next closest with what I wanted was Chicago and they wouldn't trade either. I went through this all already and the other issue is they only give 30 days to complete the buyback. I know the srt charger is no pos. I have had 2 srt vehicles already, the jeep twice and a 300c srt8. I guess I am looking at it from the point of if or when the new jeep comes out then the charger will be traded in on that and should still have a decent resale value.

Bummer they wouldn't let you order one. Could you not search and buy from a dealer?

Boychiks you are right I got way to many tickets in the jeep. But I still miss it. As for getting them to buy the truck back and buying another jeep, well I would have done that except they don't just give you the money back. I don't know if it's like that in every state but thats the way its here in minnesota. They require that you buy another chrysler product, it has to be as much as or more then the vehicle they are buying back and it all has to take place within 30 days, and its msrp to msrp. They also have other rules, such as they will not ship a vehicle, but will send a driver to pick it up, which puts quite a few miles on the vehicle and in my opinion makes it a used vehicle. I would have loved to get the money back and just go buy another jeep as I know I could have found a good deal somewhere. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with the charger srt that I will be getting. I guess that after having the jeep everything else is a let down. I am just hoping that they make another jeep srt 8 as I will be one of the first ones to buy.

I had a tough time finding mine and was getting out of a 2010 GC Laredo that I owned for 3 weeks and hated it (was coming out of a MB AMG so I really missed the HP). They found a GC SRT for me, but had the same types of issues. Before they would send a driver I had to give them a 2K non-refundable deposit. They offered to have me go pick it up, but I wasn't giving up a Saturday to take the trip. I had similar "used car" thoughts as the vehicle left the dealership w/2 miles on it and arrived at my dealership with 170 miles on it, but to be honest, I got over it real quick.
Good luck.
