its time to replace/upgrade the rotors and pads on my srt8. what are the best rotors and padds to get, i was leaning towards drilled and slotted. are they really worth the extra money?
thanks

I got the R1's:

+: Rims Look Great Longer!!!
Look Great behind the rims
Rims Look Great Longer!!!
Close to stock breaking power
Rims Look Great Longer!!!
Cost compared to OEMs
Your Rims Will thank You!!!

-: Rust ring
Questionable issues with cracking

I can tell a slight decrease in breaking performance. I will say that I did have a problem with my breaks building reliable pressure in city conditions. I dont get that same feeling now though. Coulda been something in the system that was resolved in the change, but it's gone.

You cannot overstate the improvement in break dust. There is dust but it accumulates more slowly and is a color that is not so obvious. I have also had people look past the jeep to the rotors and comment on how 'neat' they look.

As a side note: I get a real kick out of the "seniors" reaction to the Jeep. It never fails if I stop to get gas and I am near one at the pump. I always make time to talk to them in detail about the SRT8 and they love it. I got the classic "They dont make em them like they used to." just the other day, but it was not an insult. The guy was all teeth as I layed it out for him. They universally love the wheels and rotors. I have no doubt Buick could surpass Toyota if they added replica rims to their lineup.

i have never changed padds and rotors myself. what do i need to do after the install to "break" them in? or can i just go out and drive?

checkout the thread below on how to season and bed them... I have had mine on for a week now and love'em! Got the r1's with new pads, no squeak and hardly any dust.
