I was driving through michigan on 196 at about 2 a.m. this past thursday, and a blacked out camaro pulls up to me. Note that I had three other large guys in the car with me and a trunk full of luggage. This guy was next to me and he was getting a little trippy with his gas pedal. I decided to show him what our beast could do, and we started going at it from about 85mph. I think he was surprised when i was gaining a foot a sec. on him all the way up to 155. I think his girl in the front seat was embarrassed

I took a newer ss camaro at atco raceway back in december, funny thing I heard the guy on his cell as we were waiting to go and he was telling whoever was on the other end that the car was running strong and he had not lost yet.... :D

my friend has an SS v8 and i have raced his him with my HUGE subwoofers which are taking the whole trunk and i was getting a foot a sec too (BTW both were stockers)

Jeeps are the fastest SRT8 and are faster than those chevy's cuz Jeep are 4 wheel drive :D

Borla, headers, custom tune, bwoody cai, ud pulley, and a tstat. thats it for the engine, and yeah i was using the tiptronic and brought it down to third, better than just slowly picking it up from 4th

ummmm ok .. if his car was straight stock then just having headers will definitely kill

and yes always race with tiptronic and shift to 3rd if on 4th or 5th
that'll give you a huge boost to fly :P

Nice kill! Those are pretty quick cars from a roll on (very similar to the CSRT8’s). In most cases one would take a GCSRT8 even with some basic mods from that roll on speed but anything can happen on the streets. My guess is possibly he didn’t downshift to 3rd gear and you got the jump on him hard. I have beaten some faster cars before in the heat of it due to forgetting to downshift.

The auto's are dogs and if stock, I'm not impressed at all... so I'll give you that. With a great tune those cars really wake up... Like 1 sec in the 1/4 wake up

True. I've seen them run all different numbers at the track, both auto and manual, and the times really vary.

Hers in a 6spd, completely stock. It also has a RPM limiter, but in second it will give out at 75. But I've driven it hard a few times, and it is pretty damn quick. Going 80 and dropping it in third, and your at 115 in no time.

Havent raced from a roll but i would say my GF's camaro feels about the same as the jeep from 60-120. Hers is an auto. I would guess above 120 the camaro is faster but this is speculation, never taken her car that fast (yet).
