Hey guys just wondering what regular driving temperatures you have recorded after this mod...

My Jeep runs pretty hot, actually a little scary on hot days....its constantly somewhere between 225 (sitting in traffic) - 245 (running it hard)...with the factory thermostat.

What sort of temperature drop are you guys getting with the mod?

Thanks.

I'm running around 195...Did you get the Stant cap as well? I "burped" my system after my trips for 2.5 days. The red lever on the stant cap made it nice and easy

Thanks NJKEN.

I haven't bought the thermostat yet...so i will get the Stat cap as well, 195 - 200 is the temperature range where I wanted to be. Doing this mod for sure!!!

Any recommendation on parts for this mod is appreciated.....

If your temp with the stock t - stat is so high, i think it is broken. The openig point of the stock t - stat is at 203 F. Under high speed conditions it schould not go higher than 220 to 225

My understanding is that if you install the 180 t-stat, you really can't take advantage of the lower temps without using a Predator or Trinity tu bring the fan on sooner. I installed both (180* t-stat and Predator) a few weeks ago. I configured the Predator to bring on the fans sooner (there's a nice post on this somewhere with specifics). The max temp I would see was around 195. Since then I've gotten the DCX CMR tune, and it's running a tad cooler (190 max most of the time, although sometimes goes a bit warmer...maybe 193 ish). If you're running over 225 on a regular basis, I'd say your stock t-stat is on it's way out.

before the 180 t-stat mine ran steady 215 in 85 degrees Hawaii weather...now Im in the 190 range steady in normal traffic...& jumps to 215 while im on it. def.one of the best mods I have done to my jeep:)

Thanks Guys...

I agree the stock stat may not be operating properly. Took a drive today and the temp at one point reached 240 with high speed highway driving and a few hard starts, so I'm going to address this issue asap.

I had planned on getting a Pred....so maybe its time to do both at the same time.

All the advice is appreciated!

I am assuming everyone is referring to the temp that is on the dash guage, mine seems to always run at a hair over 200. 2010 Stock, what is the normal OIL temp on the digital dash that seems to run from 205 to 230. What is normal there?

To the oil temp:

Under high speed conditions (120 - 130mph for an longer time) on the german Autobahn it can go up to 273 degrees. 205 to 250 is normal
