: 07's shift hesitation now GONE after new TCM install and latest programming

Ok some back ground, for my '07 JGC I purchased the following:
05150186 "AG" TCM $ 187.15
05030306 "AD" PCM $ 332.00

In the near future, I would like to send my originals (TCM & PCM) that are obviously programmed with my VIN out somewhere for programming, specific to the supercharged low compression 426 (higher shift points and raised rev limiter etc).

Stateline Jeep in Ft. Mill SC installed and programmed the TCM and PCM for $ 449.95. The steering column and dash "covers" need to be removed in order to replace the TCM...great design guys! They then programmed, under warranty, the TCM. My invoice reads "CHRYSLER TOLD CUSTOMER THERE IS UPDATED FLASH AH RELEASE". Bottom line is I brought in the "AG" revision and they said they re-flashed it to the latest revision per my instructions.

Now for the good stuff...http://www.cherokeesrt8.com/forums/images/icons/icon12.gif the hesitation is GONE on the 1-2 shift from a dig, either in drive or autostick. From a 15 mph punch down the hesitation is still there. Amazing how they eliminated the 1-2 hesitation, it now smoothly starts the shift at 5800rpm and is completed by 6000, well before the rev limiter kicks in at 6200 rpm. This is exactly what I hoped they would not do to correct this problem!

Well, I WOULD recommend this revision as it is very smooth from 1-2 and the other shifts are unchanged (begin shift at 6000, finish by 6200 not nearly the same hesitation from 1-2). On the strip, I do not think the early shift would hurt et vs. hitting the rev limiter.

Now how are you guys doing as far as getting both rear axles to spin?

Thanks for figuring this one out Bill! I'm happy for ya, but the SRT engineers need to arrange this for anyone that wants it done (TSB). Now you should show your contact your results.

So do you think this will help you in the quarter??

...Bill thanks for the info....

what you are saying is to "fix" the problem, Chrysler just lowered shift point.

that'll definately slow down your 1/4 mile et by 5 hundreths+?

So, your advice is leave well enough alone, unless you are getting the
Stage II flash? right?

thanks,

NOS almost on, maybe testing tomorrow at track.

Feels better on the 1-2 shift, I bet the ET is a wash, lower shift point but no stumble....pretty hard to back to back this mod. I am not going to drop the steering column and rip half the dash out at the strip to go back to my original TCM!

No not really.
Hopefully you guys learned something.
I wanted to do this to have my original sent for programming.
$ 187.15 for TCM + $ 449.95 for the install = $ 637.10 ;)Bill

Bill next time see if they can drop the harness for the TCM out the side of the dash or some where where you can get to it easier!!

I am sure we will need to get to it in the future;)

Guys just a heads up. I've also noticed that my jeep does the same thing but I'll finsih with the rest of the details. In mine I would shift from reverse to drive without letting the vehicle come to a complete stop in reverse. Once I made a complete stop in reverse the problem went away.

See for yourselves!

I hope the SRT Engineer's get on this soon or we get B&G to finish the upgrade for the 2007's. Had I known it would be this bad I would have bought a 2006. The shift problem is really embarrassing as the owner of a high performance vehicle.

The shift patterns for my 06 after the the flash is no better. Mine will shift at 5600 rpm 1-2 and will sometimes run past 6400 rpm when it kicks down from D to 2nd at 45mph. If had a do-over I would not have flashed the TCM.
