I think 22" would affect performance to much, Less umph, More bling Mod.

anyone upgraded yetCheck with some of the tire shops in your area, they can probably help you with this downgrade.

this would be an upgrade, the 20's look like spare tire donuts.

They need better tires.....ie BFG KDW2's....goodyears aren't cutting it.

this would be an upgrade, the 20's look like spare tire donuts. No, the 20's look perfect, and offer superb performance. With 22's you would have more unsprung weight, negatively affecting performance, and they would look stupid. But go ahead, it's your GC SRT-8, if you actually own one.

I agree with ARH1956 I think the rims look perfect. No one complains about the size of the rims on the BMW X5 4.8is which are 20's. Sure you can put 22's on it but I think it would take away from the overall look of the car. There are very few cars that come with stock 20's so why mess with them.

Also don't forget the factory rims are forged aluminum... most aftermarket wheels are cast aluminum which is weaker and heavier.

Nice looking ride and thanks everyone for your feedback. Canadian build GC's are arriving May-June with one on order.

Valid points about the 22 size hampering performance, but looking to personalize the look. Will probably go with Asanti 132's 3pce design and somewhat lighter than other 22 forged options and plus up the tire size to stuff up the wells. Toyo Proxes S/T 265/40/22 front and 285/35/22 back.

Will be checking out other mods to help make up performance lose from 22's.

Anybody think a NOS 150 shot system would hurt the 6.1 long term.

Hey steve, I as well have been looking a 22s from Asanti! I do not have the GC yet but will some time this summer, i just wish to build my business before i buy another money pit. Any how, GREAT choice on the wheel, i personally have plans to powdercoat the Asanti 128s in 22s to match the Inferno red just on the wheel face.

Tough part is going to be finding a 22" or even 20" with the correct offset. The GC has a 5x127(5x5.00") bolt pattern and requires a +35mm offset. Most manufacturers do not make this combo, there are some out there. Don't let someone sell you a wheel without first verifying the offset. Just because it's a 22" with the right bolt pattern doesn't mean it will work.

The 22" wheels make the brake disks ( Rotors ?) look pathetic !! time for an upgrade?

Not to take this on a tangent. But a set of these "Dub Pimpstars" could make me feel like a real Baller. Talk about BLING!!!

I just got back from my friend's tire shop with a new set of Toyo Proxy S/T 265/50r20 front and 295/45r20 rears. This is good news especially if you wanted to go to 22's since my tires are about 1.3" taller and they fit fine.

Post the pictures A.S.A.P.
You can't drop a bomb like that without some photos to back it up.
Give us some good side shots so we can see if they fill the fenderwell up a little better than the stockers.

Thanks.

ok ok! the pix are in this thread

but the side shot isn't that great because of poor lighting you can't see the fenderwell/gap too well. I'll get better pix later.
