: do our Jeeps have rear hatch speakers?
cobrakid 04-26-2007, 12:47 PM I keep seeing dash, front door, and rear door, with no mention of the
grill looking things all the way in the back cargo side panels?
I posted twice about tapping into those speakers and have had like 70 views
and no responses???????
Are there speakers back their, thus totalling 8?????
I need to tapp into the factory wires to hook up my bass tube.
thanks,
jlandbl 04-26-2007, 01:12 PM No on the rear hatch. 6 speakers total (front dash-mids/highs only, front doors-bass only, rear doors-full range).

I hate it when I dont get responses....But the answer is No. 2 in the dash, and 1 per door
HoustonSRT-8 04-26-2007, 01:22 PM No responses = people who don't know
cobrakid 04-26-2007, 02:08 PM thanks guys, so where can I tap the bass tube into?
Will I have to run wires all up along the door trims for the rears?
Is there anything in the hatch area to tap into?
thanks again.
I haven't done this yet but this should help: http://www.wkjeeps.com/interior_trim.htm
Derwood98 04-26-2007, 05:37 PM I added subs to mine. You need to tap into the amp wires in the drivers rear quarter pannel. It's a little tricky to get out so take your time. Here's what I installed.

alittle off topic but Derwood i love how you secured the sub box with a ratchet strap... that sucker doesn't move around right? i bet those 12's are heavy
Se7en 04-30-2007, 05:04 PM Derwood,
I have a question about your PDX amplifier. Did you have to make any cuts to the sotrage compartment to make the lid fit or is it just resitng there?
Thanks!

Actually, I need to come up with a better plan. With all the acceleration, the hold downs are actually starting to pull out.. And yes, the box weighs about 80 pounds and goes straight to the rear on take off. Need to fix that.

Yes, you have to cut out the plastic tub on the bottom and pull out the insulation to make it fit. You also have to remove some of the insulation to get the power cables to fit so that it doesn't push up on the plastic liner.

Thanks! Overall are you happy with the pdx?

Oh yes. It's really clear and it hits really hard. It takes a lot of power to drive those G5's in a sealed enclosure and they hit.
