i have my calipers all torn down and at the powder coater... is there such a thing as a rebuild/overhaul kit for the stock brembos?? the stock seals and such seem to be in really great shape but i figured while they are apart, might as well do what I can...

Apparently the Brembo's are not serviceable and we're starting to see corroded pistons now.

I don't know whatever became of this, but DaveZ was supposed to be trying to get rebuild kits from Centric Parts almost 2 years ago - http://www.300cforums.com/forums/715987-post19.html.

That's from an 3CF thread, but the calipers are the same.

There is a rebuild kit!!!

I had a seal leak on one of my pistons.

The dealer didn't have a part number for the Jeep brakes, but they did find a rebuild kit for the red SRT 300C or Charger calipers. The kit came with four new seals. You simply pull the piston out, pull the old seals (it's a simple press fit). Then put the new seal around the piston, and push them in together.

It took me a long time to get all the air out of that huge caliper.

I don't know anything about the corroded pistons, and I thought powder coating doesn't hold up to brake temps. Curious to see how that goes.

Hello, is any news about rebuild kit for the Brembo calipers for Cherokee SRT 8? Is some place where can order pistons and seals?

Is that including the pistons or just boots and seals?

Piston is sold as individual. Seal kit as good for 1 caliper. If you are doing both front calipers you will need 2 kits.

Why don't you just tell us how much and I do not mean this in a derogatory way?

Just to clarify...

Does the seal kit contain the o-rings and the dust boots?

The pistons you speak of, who manufactures them? Are they of the cup design or solid? Could you possibly post a picture of one and it's packaging?

When are these parts going to appear on your web site/catalog?

Any information about this might help you sell some. I am on my third set of calipers for my 300c SRT8.

Call me silly but I am of the opinion that calipers should last longer than the pads.

$23 a pop seems steep, that would put the cost of rebuilding two front calipers at over $300 with shipping. That is assuming the dust boots are included in the seal kit, more if not. Their are rebuild services out there that do these calipers for about that amount.

I am not here to critisize pricing I am just trying to find a source for parts at a resonable cost and to maybe understand why it is so hard to find this particular (piston) part.

I think what this boils down to for people is that they want to re-build thier own calipers for several reasons:

A: The finish, some are red, some are silver, some are black. It has been a crapshoot dealing with remanufactured parts, some are painted without logos, some are bare metal, etc.

B: Shipping costs (as I am sure you know) are getting stupid.

C: Trust, some people no longer trust others to work on thier cars.

All parts are made by StopTech. O-ring and dust seals are included.

It has not yet uploaded to the website.

Just email what you need. These are very small parts, shipping is cheap.
