: I need advice in buying a Jeep SRT8!

Me and my fiance have been looking at Jeep SRT8's. We test drove 1 last year and 1 last week. We love the interior and pretty much everything about it... well except the MPG.:D We were thinking of buying this 07 with 56k miles for $32k, but thank god we said "no thanks". It was over priced and the condition it was in wasn't great either.

They had a 2010 on the showroom, but they were asking $48k. What are some things we need to know and say when buying a Jeep? Obviously we want a good deal like everyone else does. What is everyone here paying monthly and for insurance? Is it worth it to get a 2010? I'll settle for a 08/09 as long as its in good condition with low miles. We don't want to buy out of state either (which seems to have better deals than CA).

We were also looking at Trailblazer SS's and I test drove a 2WD one last week too and I was really surprised. It FELT just as fast as the Jeep and I like how the ride felt better than the SRT8. Anyway, we want a Jeep because they look better from the front. We are interested in Red Rock or black. What colors did red rock come in and is that the only red they offered?

With all the rebates there offering on the 2010 srt-8 jeep a fully loaded 1 that windowes at 49500 you can get for around 44500 and then try to get it to around 41500 if you can. LOL beleave me the ss trailblazer isnt even close as it mite feal like it because of the 4.10 rear end gears. A bone stock SSTB will turn the 1/8 mile in 9.2 sec and the 1/4 in low 14 sec. My 07 srt-8 jeep bone stock turned 8.39 in the 1/8 mile and low 13.11 in the 1/4 mile. The sstb are a lot cheaper with about the same eq but there trannys are weak according to the guys i have raced.

I had a TBSS and got rid of it after going through 2 Trannys. They are junk. The Jeep is a ton better ride. The Jeep is basically a Mercedes Benz considering it was jointly designed with AMG.

only thing I can say is the TBSS has a higher tow rating, its more of what an suv is suppose to be I think than the GCSRT8 but I still would not take it over my GCSRT8. As long as you dont commute every day in it who cares about gas mileage? As far as price I paid $31,000 otd for my '08 brand new last march. Insurance isnt that expensive either I pay $450 for 6months and im 27 years old

I talked to a salesman I've been working a deal on and he said he can possibly get me a 2010 for $43k out the door. I'm going to see him tomorrow afternoon. If all goes well then he'll have to order or do a dealer trade for one. Red Rock or Black?

If you don't mind washing your car once a week get black.

Red Rock foe sho! But I may be bias. Black is nice but like Trathferd said harder to keep clean. I think in 06 they had an Inferno Red as well. I agree 100% about getting a 2010. 08 and newer had Black interior verses gray.

Ordering for the 2010 Jeep SRT8s ended some time ago. Your dealer may be able to go into Zone Holding and grab one from inventory. I believe the factory is near shutdown as they will be prepping for the 2011 Grand Cherokee soon.

There's limited inventory but if you can get a deal done, your dealer will work to find one and make the sale. I have Brilliant Black -- when it's clean it's AMAZING. And it does get dirty fast, especially the tailgate.

Good luck!

For me, the red is the way to go. I had an 06 red one. They color changed for a few years but it's back by popular demand.

Should be able to get a 2010 for around $40k, depending on the dealer.

Take your time, and the right one will come!

RedRock FTW :)

Can't really take my time because the rebates end this month.
