I emailed Peripheral about when the CHYP IPod connector would start shipping.

I got an email back this morning saying:

It started shipping today!!

This is an email request submitted via the Peripheral Electronics web site to the Consumer department.

I will be looking for it on the electronics websites.

It hooked up to your factory nav and gives you a ipod input so you can see and control everything thing on the nav screen.

I thought the latest one from Mopar did that already?

I had that one but it didn't work very well for me. It worked for one day and have a few weeks I finally took it back. Some people said it worked fine. But I was going to get this one anyways.

Please see the attached link. Is this the one you are talking about:

If so, the VES has to be DISCONNECTED! That's no good. I just purchased the Mopar one from the dealer and it does not interfact with the factory stereo controls at all except for volume and it cuts in and out depending on where you driving. That's no good either. Is there a better solution that someone can think of? It's pretty tough to navigate your ipod manually and drive a SRT8.. :D

SilverSRT8 - did you get this yet? I just had it installed today, and it controls the ipod, but it is not full access, I do not see any info on the screen, except for the VES tab; I still need to use the Ipod to choose Artists, Playlists, etc. The installer will call Peripheral on Monday to see what the scoop is.

I have not gotten it yet. I haven't found anybody who is selling it. Where did you get it?

Did you get the CHYP? The CHYP from my understanding allows you to control everything with your radio controls.

I just read this on the manual....

"** There is no syncing text display on any of these radio’s with this interface. The iPod’s click wheel will be available for use with this interface in conjunction with the radio’s control buttons. Charging of the iPod will occur during Accessory, Ignition and R.A.P. modes. On the steering wheel, only the Track Up and Track Down buttons will control the iPod."

Purchased at Abt Electronics in IL, www.abtelectronics.com. I saw that verbiage as well, but if that is the case, I won't be happy. I will keep you posted.
