brucewayne 04-24-2007, 08:34 AM At first i thought maybe i was turning them on when I used the turn signals

They hi beams turn on if the lights are set on both automatic and manual.

squigmang 04-24-2007, 08:40 AM what kind of setup do you have?
HoustonSRT-8 04-24-2007, 08:45 AM I was going to suggest checking to make sure the automatic high-beams setting was turned off, but.....
Does it turn off when it is suppose to? Like when a car is approaching?

I am not sure, I turned it off when i saw any car approaching.
I had no idea there was such a thing as automatic hi-beams.

I guess my salesman forgot to mention that feature as well as me not reading the manual.
HoustonSRT-8 04-24-2007, 09:51 AM Yeah, scroll through your setup menu in the instrument cluster.

championjeep 04-24-2007, 10:26 AM With option group 1 you get Smart beam headlamps. They stay bright and automatically dim when you are approaching another light source. They will sometimes appear to stay on to long when a car is approaching at night because the sensors only dim the lights when they need to.......which is actually later thean most of us would switch them manually.

Yeah, after trying them out, I decided to just handle it myself instead of seeing them constantly switch.

I thought your info said you were in bolingbrook so I was going to ask you
about bolingbrookgolfclub and a suggestion for very good hotel in the area.
cademyster 04-24-2007, 03:21 PM Also, I have had a few cars with this feature before. Although each generation of auto sensing lights seems to get better, the Jeep's is not great. I found that where I placed my automatic toll thingy affected the sensor's preformance. Make sure there is nothing blocking the infra-red on the windshield.
