Im in the process of buying a GCSRT8 06 model and before I finalize this deal id like to know if there are any MAJOR differences in the models after the 06 other than the keyless start and backup cam? The motor is the same and nothing about the engine/tranny was changed correct? Thanks for all of the help and I plan to be an active member of this cool forum

Tailights
Front and rear bumpers are not painted on the 06'
06' won't shift automatically when in autostick
I think the rest is the same

06 and 07 are pretty similar changed for 08 but mostly cosmetic inside and out.

Yea, the tail lights for sure. I put 06 tail lights on my 07 cause I had them tinted and I like the idea of two bulbs better than one behind the tint
The newer models come in BRILLIANT BLACK
Not that plain gloss black.... makes your Jeep slow :D
And the newer models (08 +) have a black leather interior... the older models have a light grey color interior
The newer models also have "Alcoa Forged" stamped on the rims... and auto leveling HID lights :D
The newer models have a smother curved front bumper... the older ones have a more aggressive curve in the front bumper. You wouldnt notice this unless someone pointed it out tho...
The newer models say SRT on the seats (in white stitching)... the older models say SRT-8 (white + red stitching) on the seats
And finally... the 09 and newer have electronic performance guages... they tell you your 0-60 and stuff... Useless IMO since they are not fully accurate.
OOH ALSO the 09 and newer have stitching around the gauge cluster... It looks PIMP... I dont have it tho :(

difference is '06's are faster and cooler. . and you can get the dealer to flash them to allow auto-upshift in manu-matic mode. . .

WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHEN YOU SAY THE FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS ARE NOT PAINTED? SORRY IF ITS A STUPID QUESTION. :(

The inserts around the lower grille, fog lights and lower rear bumper are black like the rear step no matter what color Jeep you have. Most people get it smoothed and painted to match.

As a matter of fact, look at the silver Jeep at the top of this page^^^^. See the lower grille how its black. '07 and up would be silver to match. You can also see the on the red Jeep to the right really small but the lower rear bumper is the same.
