: Who has blown up a 6.1 with to much boost?

I know alot has to do with tuning but whats to much, some are running 8psi,9.5,10psi but whats the breaking point for the internals.

If I recall correctly wasn't that with the bigger V2 T-trim Vortech head unit he upgraded to and ran like 12psi?

So by how much boost, or was it because the tune was not ajusted for the extra boost?
My goal is 11.5, i dont have a cage and dont want to get one and i dont want to get kicked off the track.

He didn't upgrade the blower until he got the 426....He blew the 6.1 with the standard V3 Vortech blower by changing his pulleys and upping the boost...It went POP

When I was at HHP for a dyno tune there was a Chally on the dyno before me.... He had a stock block 6.1 with a Kenne Belle pushing around 10psi
Got some cell phone pics I think.... It was pushing over 550 to the wheels
Anyway after he left.... Josh said to me the guy probably wouldnt care if he blew up his motor. He will just get a bigger one LOL :D
That gives me an idea that Josh was thinking his motor was pushing just about all the boost it could handle...

I'm running the 30 tooth pulley on mine, which yields 10 PSI worth of CFM's. In the past I've seen it spike at 9.5 to 10, but recently I'm only getting 8.5. I think my pheolonic spacers are leaking and it's time for them to go.
With proper tuning and a visible wideband or EGT gauge I believe the life of the engine will be greatly increased. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :)

FUEL SYSTEM - Kenne Bell 17V BOOST-A-PUMP™ and 50lb injectors included in all kits. Good for 650RWHP with stock pump. Use 20V BOOST-A-PUMP™ with 70-80lb injectors and stock pump for up to 800RWHP. ST Motorsports test car made 765RWHP (900 engine HP) @ 20 psi with 100% stock motor and car using 20V BOOST-A-PUMP™ and 80lb injectors and there was another 35HP or 801RWHP/914EHP, the exact same HP numbers the same MAMMOTH™ Kit made at 23 psi on the Shelby GT 500 car and engine dyno. Still believe you need 2 pumps, bigger pumps and larger lines on your Dodge?
