i'm driving down to miami next month, and wanted to have a cb radio along for the ride - any thoughts on rigging the antenna in a way that won't scratch the paint nor require holes to be drilled in the roof?

Some methods to consider:
Mag mount base;
Through the glass (more permanent);
Coupler to am/fm antenna;
window clip on.

this looks like a pretty clean install, however I'm afraid I'll hate the look of a second antenna coming off the hood:

Do they still sell these things? I thought people used cell phones now a days. Even the cops use their cells more then their radio.. :D

Get a K40 with the optional magnet mount. The magnet is good up to 190mph (supposedly) and I use mine on a piece of felt so it's not touching the paint...so far I've done in the 140mph range with it on felt attached to the trunk lid of my M5. I have not used it on the Jeep. The K40 you want is the metal 4.5ft whip (the original K40) with the clip mount (which mounts to the optional magnet) not any of the fiberglass whips.

The correct quote would be "lost sheep to shepherd..." :)
