Sorry guys this might be a dumb question. So who is going to drive there JC STR8 in the snow? And what tires and rims do you think you might use? OR IM I the only guy thinking of doing this?

I intend to drive mine in the snow. That was part of the attraction of the all wheel drive for me. I live in Salt lake city, so it's inevitable. I will see how the stock tires do and if it's a problem, I'll look into other tires. I am kinda looking forward to it.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to be driving mine in the winter as well. Calgary winters and snow ruled out getting a Magnum or Charger, but hopefully the Jeep can dominate a few months of crappy roads.

My wife will be driving mine in the snow over the winter
I will be using the same stock wheels and tires.

My experience is from owning an FX35 for 3 years. My FX had the same tires as our SRT and also on 20" wheels. I ran Blizzak tires on 18" wheels in the winter because the OEM config. was bascially useless in the snow here in the north east (LOTS of slush and ice). Other parts of the country get mainly dry packed snow and I think our tires would do fine in those conditions. However in the unique climate of the north east, Blizzak tires are a must IMO. I'm already in contact with Tire Rack in reference to Blizzak's for our SRT. There is nothing as of yet but they said that there should be "something" in the winter.
If there is nothing available then I'll just go out and get the best snow tire available at that time.
I'm sure this car "can" be driven in the snow, slush and ice however after having the confidence of driving an SUV with Blizzak's, I'll never take the chance again of being without them when available.

Thanks for all the info guys. I did not know the stock tires were all season tires. This is good. I thought they might have been high speed performance tires.

I used to put snow tires on my Vettes and M3. They did great in the snow.:D

The all season tires on our Jeep is a joke. Do some research and you'll quickly realize that our tires are not good in the snow (bad snow with slush and ice and your doomed). Don't fool yourselves.

I can hardly wait to drive this thing in the snow. It should be a blast. Luckily for me, this is my company vehicle so it gets driven every day.

I'm a bit worried about my wheels in the infamous Ohio road salt this winter. Any need to protect the wheels from the winter beating?

You would be better off swapping them for some winter wheels with decent tires. There was a video a while back of Grip driving his in the snow... Not very safe.

It has snowed in Scottsdale, but of course you only have to wait a few hours.
My response to driving this in the snow is I'll certainly go for it.
The only thing you have to worry about are other drivers. The other thing to worry about are the wide tires, your foot print is spread out farther than normal GC's so you have more snow/ice/slush under your tires. I'm from Reno, I've driven all kinds in the snow and the 4wd/awd makes all the difference in the world. I'm used to chaining up. If you plan on driving in the snow a lot, do yourself a favor and get some snow tires and different wheels. That's not too hard to do, and it will bring your clearance up some too. I won't be doing that, but I would be glad to help out in finding a good wheel/snow tire combo. Blizzaks have always rated high in the low profile tire area.

One of the biggest problems with all srt products and snow is winter tire choice. There are no good snow's in a 20. to open yourself up to a world of new tire possibilities you will need to switch to an 18 rim and tire. However finding an 18 to fit over the brembos is hard to do.
Someone on the charger forums test fit an 18 on his charger srt. it should fit our cars as for the brakes are the same.
