So anyway........it was the double oring in the oil filter that caused the giant mess in my driveway. Live and learn.

But here's another little quirk.

I picked my truck up from the dealer about 30 mins ago and noticed that it was running HOT. The coolant was over 215 on the gauge on the dash. And the Oil temp was a steady 225 and held there. Typically the coolant is just above 185 and the oil temp is between 180-200....

I have a 180 stat on the car and i'm just wondering why everything is so hot. I didn't get on it at all on the way back to work. I did return it back to stock on my predator before it went to the dealer, but i don't really think that would affect the temp of the coolant and oil...

I also noticed that they used 5-40 oil instead of 0-40. I'm not sure if that would make a difference though....

Any advice/comments is apprecaited. Thanks.

Why would you have the oil changed again?

Do you have a CMR? I ask because im not sure if the predators canned tunes have the fans set on a colder temp settings, but most CMR tunes do.

could have engine damage if the thing was driven with no oil.

I don't have a CMR. i'm hoping it because the canned tunes have colder fan settings....i'll know tomorrow because i re installed my 93 CAI tune tonight. but i haven't driven it yet.

na. The truck was on for about 10 seconds. at idle. all while the oil was coming out. and even once the ordeal was over it still had 2 quarts in the bottom of the pan.

The truck sounds and drives fine. I'm hoping it was running hotter because the diablo tune was out.

The thing is...the truck isn't technically running hot. it's running normal as if i didn't change the stat....thing is i did. Like i said....hopefully it's because the stock tune was back in......
