The luggage cover began to squeak on my 2010 after about 3.5k miles. It mostly happens when it is rolled out, covering the trunk area and comes from the left side spring when going over bumps causing the middle of the cover to go up and down. It seems closing and opening the cover helps for about 20 miles, same for spraying w40 inside the hole on the spring. I am going to request replacement, next time I am at the dealer. Is anybody else having similar issue?
I wish they made folding cover, same as on the BMW X6.

I have a similar issue with my '07... it's really annoying.
It only squeaks in summer (temperature a factor, I guess) and not at all times... and the following happened a few times already:
It would squeak for a full hour while driving, so I'd arrive at home all determined to fix it. I tried to pinpoint exactly the origin of the noise by opening the trunk and rocking and shaking the truck... but I have never been able to make it squeak "artificially" while stopped, so I guess only a certain kind of suspension-induced vibration causes it.
By ear I think it comes from the left-hand side as well. Not sure whether it iss the spring or the left end of the cover squeaking against the plastic receptacle where it sits... or something else.
I removed the cargo cover since... so I realise this is probably not helping much.

In my case I am sure it is the cover, because when I press on the cover in the middle, it makes same squeak. I guess I am at the dealer I will request to replace it under the warranty.

Interesting. I get a squeak in the same place but I always thought it was the kicker woofer being not secured in the seat back. I'll have to check this out now. . .
