Here's a (bad) picture of one of my front shocks. Under that bottom sticker is a little puddle of shock oil. Both front shocks look like this. I've got a Rubicon also, so trust me I'm not off-roading in this baby.
Took it by the dealer. John in service came out rubbed his hand on them, and said "yup, shock oil. I'll order you another set". I go in a couple of weeks for my 1st service so they'll put them on then. He had no explanation for the issue, but doesn't have that many GCSRT8's come through. In any case, thought he handled it as he should have
Kind of unusual they'd both be defective like that, but probably from the same batch.
I also got his input re: the front brake scoring. He was aware of the problem, said unless DCX and Brembo came up with a fix that Brembo was going to pay for, don't hold your breath for a TSB. The scoring is considered to be cosmetic and doesn't affect performance. And that Brembo's make noise, period. They would replace the rotors (I should have asked him if he meant pads too) once within the 1st 12000 miles. That's it. So might as well wait until that point to do it.
Hope all this helps.
