: my wish list.
BadSRT-8 04-23-2007, 08:21 AM what's up fella's? here's my wish list.
1. variable valve timing. ( bring the 6.4 to at least 550 hp)
2. 7 spd amg trans. w/ steep 1st gear so we can have a more friendly highway gear.
3. mds tech. for more mpg.
4. sport button to deactivate mds, increase power , and firm up shifts.
5. lsd front and rear w/ a button to completly turn off traction control.
6. huge brakes! (8 caliper system)
7. less body roll w/ better ride
8. high end interior (like audi s-line) w/ more leather and some carbon fiber.
9. big sound system.
10. meatier steering wheel.
11. light weight 22in. wheels.
12. wider fenders to distinguish the srt's from regular jeeps/
13. bigger gas tank.
14. aftermarket mods from mopar.
i basicly want a fast suv that i don't need to modify. i want a very nice interior. if they were to bring out a "halo" model to the srt lineup i would be more than happy to pay more. i don't want a high performance suv, i want a high performance suv that has luxury to match it's performance.
what do you guys think?
i do realize a truck like this will cost 60k+ but i don't mind.
2007GCSRT8 04-23-2007, 08:25 AM Why not get the AMG at that point? You are nearing the price....
In my mind it seems that they have to separate the 2 vehicles at some point. And price would seem the obvious one.
Just my .02
Go~RillaWRX 04-23-2007, 08:36 AM good wishlist...not gonna happen in a jeep though. Just buy they AMG. Unless of course you wanna get beat by the SRT..;)
BadSRT-8 04-23-2007, 08:38 AM the amg is just not my style. i'm not saying all srt's should be like this, but have a model above the srt. but the regular srt's could use mds w/a sport button to turn it off.
BadSRT-8 04-23-2007, 08:43 AM i know that this stuff will never make it to production, it's just that i've had my truck for six months and i'm just not happy w/ it.
and i feel that if someone were to make a vehicle like this that i like i could probably drive it for years w/o complaint.
Mango 04-23-2007, 09:46 AM Well, you can't have everything.
Just by an AMG.
HoustonSRT-8 04-23-2007, 10:24 AM 1. variable valve timing. ( bring the 6.4 to at least 550 hp) $$$$$$$$
2. 7 spd amg trans. w/ steep 1st gear so we can have a more friendly highway gear. I think a 6-spd automatic with a good highway gear added to the current 5-spd would be enough. Our first gear is already enough.
3. mds tech. for more mpg. Agreed
4. sport button to deactivate mds, increase power , and firm up shifts. Agreed
5. lsd front and rear w/ a button to completly turn off traction control. LSD = good. However, it would not be warranty safe to have the button. Wouldn't happen.
6. huge brakes! (8 caliper system) What is wrong with the current system?
7. less body roll w/ better ride ~1" lowering and better tires would fix that
8. high end interior (like audi s-line) w/ more leather and some carbon fiber.
9. big sound system. The '08 model has an upgraded system. Leave the rest to aftermarket.
10. meatier steering wheel. I'll go with that, but not too much thicker.
11. light weight 22in. wheels. Sidewall would be too thin for non-performance enthusiasts. Would also diminish load & towing capacity.
12. wider fenders to distinguish the srt's from regular jeeps. Sounds like a decent idea.
13. bigger gas tank. No complaint here except extra weight.
14. aftermarket mods from mopar. We already have some. Just be patient for more.

This is already the quickest SUV on the planet. No company makes a model to trump it's performance model. Do you think BMW would ever make a 3-series to beat it's M3? No.
what do you guys think?

Then the Jeep cannot be price competitive with the TB SS.

Sounds like you need to buy an ML63 then. The Jeep is for people who like to go fast, not whine about comfort.

Yeah but you gotta admit, some of those things could have been a no brainer from the factory.
MDS- Duh!!! I was able to afford this thing due to some act of God. Gas is killing me. I would LOVE for someone to retrofit the system from one of the other cars onto my Jeep. Anybody know if that is possible?
bigger gas tank- Yeah, Im going to leave this alone....We all know that deep down inside, we want a few more gallons.
big sound systemFor the amount that I saw these things go for, I am really disappointed with the audio system. I will say however, the downfalls of the system is indeed the processing.....I am a stereo freak....but the processing on this thing is absolutely AWEFUL!!
light weight 22in. wheels UH-UH...Not for me, Maybe if they could offer enough meat on them. On that note,
I Hate these Goodyear RS-A's. I am saving my duckies now so I can dump these things as soon as I can. I bet the Jeep would ride great if we had some other brand in a NON runflat.
Along with that one....I wish there was a more compatible bolt pattern and offset. Would make it a bit easier to get winter wheels to preserve the factory wheels.
wider fenders to distinguish the srt's from regular jeepsThat would be pretty kick@ss.
To go with that...
A sick @ss functional hood scoop.
From a distance I can tell an srt charger from an RT. Would be nice fror the jeep.
high end interior (like audi s-line) w/ more leather and some carbon fiber Maybe just a little better. If the interior was much more nice, You would definitely see higher prices. But there are a few more rattles than I think a vehicle of this pricerange should have....No worries, Im fixing that with the stereo.
But Remember, other than the gas MPG, I LOVE my jeep. I think that there are ways to fix many of the things I dont like about it.
It will just take me a while for some.
HoustonSRT-8 04-23-2007, 11:58 AM Yeah but you gotta admit, some of those things could have been a no brainer from the factory.
Yes, but then you in particular would not have been able to afford it. You already said it was hard for you to get this Jeep. Imagine if it had been 5-10k more with some of the extras you listed.
BadSRT-8 04-23-2007, 12:00 PM i know. i know. i'm complaining about a jeep not being more road worthy.
it's just that when i bought the truck it was between the jeep and range rover sport. it really was a no-brainer since the jeep is sooo much faster.
but damn! the interior sucks in my opinion and there are so many squeaks and rattles that it drives me crazy.
one example i would like to bring up is the audi s-8, it has a 2,000 dollar option for leather dash and 500. option for carbon fiber interior trim. i understand that not many people would buy it but it's nice to know you have the option.
BadSRT-8 04-23-2007, 12:04 PM or they can just make like an "r" series for the srt's that is an ultimate driving machine, where it doesn't matter how much it costs.

You're also comparing the Jeep to a more upscale brand. It costs money to make these options available. Audis pull more money to be able to offer these options. Offering an "R" series is available......consider the aftermarket your "R" series.
On a side note, I have virtually no squeaks and rattles in my '06.
vinsane112 04-23-2007, 02:52 PM yea really---why does everyone complain about the rattles?---i have an 07 that i beat the panties off of and i only have one little rattle and with the radio on 6 you dont even hear it--sooo its not to big of a deal--fact of the matter is any car you get your not going to like somthing about it---i also have an 07 infiniti M 45 sport and its a great car but it too has one little rattle--you dont see me torching the thing--put your radio on hit the throttle to the floor and enjoy
