Looks almost identical, albeit a tad darker, to Inferno red. What do you have done to the Marauder?

I bought the Marauder new in May 02 (it is an 03). I had a Trilogy Motorsports
Supercharger (Eaton M112) installed in Sept 03. The car has 400 rwhp at 9.5# of boost.
Only other mods are a K&N intake, widened rear wheeels with Nitto 305 Drag Radials and Flowmaster 40's.

Great pics, but I must voice my opnion. As much as used to love those rain guards, they ugh! the look of the SRT8 with them on, but if you must have them I seriously recommend taking those 2 way tape ones off and switching to the Weatherguard ones that tab into the window sills, with no 2 way tape.

Why? When the sun starts baking the tape its going to stain the clearcoat, if it has not done it already and you will never get the imprint off the clearcoat, ever trust me it happened to 1 of my SUV's a long time ago. So your going to have a line of where the 2 way tape used to be, on all 4 windows.

Just MHO.

man I love that color. If every car I own didn't have to be silver I would have been all over that red rock.

We like them so there will be no problems with tape staining clearcoat cuz they are not coming off.;)

Functional difference too. The stickon ones allow water to get between them and the car which kind of defeats the purpose in the rain. And the stick on ones look ... like they are stuck on.

Here is the sticker under the hood of the Marauder on the radiator cover. Its the same as on the sides of the car.

You must know Lidio.

Oh ya, I drove the car out to Michigan from Mass. to have Lidio and his crew do the install at Alternative Auto. Lidio not only is a great guy but in the Marauder and Mustang community he is known to be a Master tuner.

I don't like the look painted. The smoked tint blends with the windows better. The majority of the Vent Visor is over the window so if you paint it they are more noticeable. Besides, the wife likes them so thats all that matters since its her daily driver. ;)

Thanks

I sold the Marauder and the Grand National I had before it. :(

But the Marauder ran high 12's- low 13's also but only after adding a $6000.00 Eaton Supercharger.

Wow........900 miles. Where you the original owner?
Unfortunately all my GN pics are in a photo album and where taken before I had a Digital camera or computer. I bought mine new in 87 and sold it with 35,000 miles in 2001.

P.M. me your email address and I will send you some pics of it. Just like being in 1987 all over again. I was the third owner. It was collector owned.

I can't speak for Rick's Marauder, but I've got one too (supercharged) and here's what I've noticed:

My Marauder has stock rear tires and can't hook well enough to stick with the SRT for the first 60'. From a 5 mph roll I think it might be about even. Absent an excellent driver and/or sticky tires on the Mercury though, the stock Jeep would likely be a pretty tight match for the modded Marauder through the quarter.

The Jeep handles wet, bumpy back roads much better. When the roads are wet and rough I really have to settle down in the Marauder. The Jeep, which weighs about 600 lbs more than the Mercury, simply sticks, goes, steers, and stops amazingly well on anything so far.

The Marauder is a little more comfortable and much smoother. The Jeep is a little more intense.

They both turn heads much more than I ever expected they would.

They're both awesome highway flyers, but the Merc has more space and pulls low 22-24 mpg at 80 mph.

The Jeep has much better toys... 5-speed auto vs 4, Mygig, Nav, rainsensing wipers, etc.

There's a few guys in Marauderville that like the Jeep SRT8, and they're really the folks that turned me onto them... the menacing Rick included.
