Looking to buy a used Jeep SRT8 and probably prior to 2009 due to cost. Does anyone have any info on what to look out for and also any major changes to the SRT8 from 06-08?

I recently went through the process myself, so I hope I'm somewhat qualified to answer your question. Basically, the '06 and '07 are very similar. Minor changes to the exterior molding on the front and rear bumpers (became color matched in '07), and a larger gas tank in '07 (from 20.5 to 21.1 gal). Other than that, Inferno Red (06) changed to Red Rock ('07), and a few minute differences. Check out wkjeeps.com for specifics. However, the '08+ changed the Navigation from the REC model to the MyGig model. MyGig is touch screen and has a 3.5mm jack in front for .mp3 players and such. The grey interior of the '06/07 got darker in '08+. The machined aluminum trim on '06/'07 became more carbon fiber/darker in '08+.

Mechanically ALL are the SAME. Same engine and drivetrain from '06+ to date.

There may be other, more subtle differences. In a nutshell, the above info is what helped me decide. I found a VERY low mileage '07 (<21k) for $32k and am VERY happy with my new SRT8!
